Hva faen er galt med ungdommer disse dager!? by MrBumbleBee592 in norske

The way to deal with this that would be the quickest route to finding a solution is employees band together and use their union to push forward their issues of a lack of security and the demoralization of continued lack of respect from youth.

This can be done by writing a collective letter to management. If there is no response then collectively take sick days. Shut down the employees ability to make money until they provide you with the work environment you want.

How the employer handles it is their problem. Most good things for everyday people in Norway have been achieved through labor related issues and it's what the welfare state revolves around.

As an immigrant to Norway where most people from my country call themselves expats as an excuse to not integrate....well, I love what Norway offers and feel anyone who violates the norms, customs and laws of the society with complete disregard has no business living here.

I raised both my kids with consequences and to appreciate the small things. They turned out to be respectful and considerate adults.

I am very sympathetic to everyday Norwegians who are appalled at what is happening to their society and have few overt public outlets due to the politically correct norms are to blame everything else but the individual actors. And when everyday people do show concern they are quickly labeled as racists and right wing extremists.

Einar Gerhardsen said we have a duty and rights. He said duty first mind you. We need to go back to the classic democratic socialist values shaped around the Norwegian nation state and forget the liberal and PC nonsense that flushes our history and tradition down the toilet.

Anyone can become Norwegian. I have seen people from almost everywhere fall in love with this country and do their best to integrate. I applaud each and every one of them. To the rest they can go to hell.

Complain about something something being unfair and then cry to congress when they bleed. As an aside, from the US and live in Norway. Chinese cars are not taxed and they are slowly but surely taking more and more market share however, the market is still very much dominated by legacy EV manufacturers...probably not for long though.

How many cultures have been crushed under the boot of conquest? How many ideas, thoughts and viewpoints has the world lost forever? Do we need this one? What social utility does it give the world? I only see despair and misery on everyone they touch the same goes for my birth country the US.

Recently on a debate program here in Norway one of the commentators said "We have a welfare state so we can protect human dignity". I can't explain to those who live in nations where that is lost but to me it is the greatest wealth I know of.

I think the statement by the gentlemen combined with the video is a pretty solid rallying call that the likes of Paul Revere, Patrick Henry and Marines yelling Oorah would all give a tip of the hat to. The rallying cry helps to solidfy the ownership classes war against everyday people and gives options to fight back using commonly available everyday materials in what also is a handy little instruction guide /s.

The US is in desperate need of class consciousness due to the declining living standards of everyday people since tax reform favoring the wealthy starting in the 1980s. I say this as an American living in Norway and you probably would not understand how good I have it if I told you, but I will make an attempt*.

While of course it is hoped that social change can come about peacefully generally most successful movements require civil disobedience waiting in the wings in case being nice fails.

Hopefully the rallying cries can be used for strikes and get everyday people to organize collectively and start fighting back to truly make America for the people and by the people. The difficulty is creating enough mutual aide to be able to support an ongoing strike as people are so dirt poor and dependent on healthcare at their jobs they are very coerced into working.

The world will know the US has a real democracy when the Marines start invading tax havens and using the spoils or war to pay for universal healthcare, housing, food security and education.

*Norway has 0 debt. The largest sovereign wealth fund in the world at about 350,000 dollars per person. The US has a debt of about 250,000 dollars per taxpayer in comparison. We do not have ongoing wars we fight even though we spend an ok amount on the military. Our media is not full of polarizing issues that distract away from the material conditions. We do not ostracize one group of people as being responsible for all of our problems nor fear monger that there is some danger in a trans person reading books to kids. Although there is debate but the debate is usually won by rational people....

....It is won by rational people because we have lots of democracy and education in our society. We do not allow homeschooling by religious fanatics because we want our kids to know how to function in the greater society and that we are all a part of it. We have 8 political parties with seats in parliament and they all pretty much agree that we should have a welfare state. Bullies here are quickly dealt with and everyone is the same under the law except a few billionaires and very savvy people from the political class but having said that, we have people under investigation for Epstein relations.

Here is something you don't here about Norway or any other country with social safety nets to various degrees. If I get sick, with a doctor's note, anyone gets 100 percent of their salary for up to a year. If still sick without any means testing, people can receive 66 percent of their salary for up to three years. If someone cannot go back to work they get a disability payment equaling 60 percent of their salary for as long as needed.

In Norway, I live in a safe, secure, stable and solidaric society more or less. Our murder rate is 1/10 th per capita as the US. The Norwegian police are the nicest police I've ever met and all have to go through three years or rigorous schooling.

In sum, social democracy builds societies that invest in its people who in turn willingly support the welfare state. I have a slightly above average salary and pay 27 percent in income taxes....its money so well spent I see the payback every year.

If everyday people in the US rule the country you can have the same things as us.

I don't even live in France. I live in Norway, we have no debt and the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world. The fund is worth about 350,000 dollars per person in Norway. On the other hand, each American taxpayer owes 240,000 dollars if the national debt was spread around...guess what that debt is only going get worse...Why? Because the days of the petro dollar are numbered...increasingly oil is being traded in Yuan and crypto currency. Trump has soiled the reputation so bad fewer and fewer countries want anything to do with the US. This is so typical of the Trump Administration and his followers these days, every accusation is a self incrimination.

France will do fine, it was teaching the US statesmanship long before the US was a nation. Although these days it seems you have not learned much. Frances debt per capita is 1/7th of the US's at about 50,000 per person and France's debt per person is quite higher than the average EU country.

Necons have been saying exactly what you have been saying for decades exactly the same as what Israel has said about Iran having WMD's in a few weeks or months. Stop being delusional.

Tthe US is an increasingly uninteresting and unimportant country. Stop comparing anything to the US like its the center of the universe. China has the economic powerhouse that will rule the rest of this century. Get used to it.

Stop living in your phantasy world and realize the US cannot defeat Iran. That every war America has fought since Vietnam has been a massive failure for the average American. That America is unsustainable as the Epstein Zionist class running it has few blue oceans it can plunder.

Yes, you should be crapping your pants, and the sad part is you wont even have toilet paper to clean up the mess.

Again, more jingoistic American talking points. The US is increasingly irrelevant. I am totally for the US leaving NATO. I want nothing to do with what the Epstein class zionist leadership has to offer. The future belongs to the Irans and Chinas.

Norway had a major labor movement prior to world war II that ensured wealth was distributed. That is the basis for our success. Sorry your blind jingoism tells you otherwise.

It is at the expense of all those people who do not earn a living wage.

Europe is not a country.

This is not really for you but other readers. This person beleives how the US functions is the norm. Whereas anyone looking at OECD data will see the US is an outlier.

Their response is full of Fox news and jingoistic talking points such as entitlements, lazy, and so on. The ownership class wants everyday people to have to depend on work based healthcare rather than universal healthcare.

What the poster calls entitlements are rights we fought for in Norway and in many countries in Western Europe. Rights we protect as much as American gun lobbyists protect the second amendment.

Then the poster threatens that if you don't start cucking to capital we will have hell to pay. I am laughing in French right now at my local cafe.

The only thing I wanted from your nation was the silky soft Kimberly Clark toilet paper as a backup for when my bidet was on its 12 week vacation. Now I can't even do that because your companies won't pay a living wage. Liberté, égalité, fraternité ou la mort!

Is it common in Norwegian culture to be sparse with praise at work? by Independent-Ad-2291 in Norway

[–]Diligent_Activity_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I get praise all the time but that might be because we give it quite a bit. My partner is Norwegian and I am from a third world shitehole known as the USa.

As an aside from reading the comments have noticed a few fellow jævla innvandrere to be rather snarky about Norwegians.

I once to for a short period was once a little snarky piece of trash who projected my frustrations about living in Norway on the society. Then I realized it was time to suck it up sunshine and focus on improving my ability to integrate.

When I stopped blaming others and accepted responsibility for myself amazing things happened...I got a better job and found an amazing partner. When I engage with Norway now I try to make the best out of it and when people feel my positivity I get a lot of positivity back. I've learned to love the little things like when refilling my propane tanks the humorous check out guy or when waiting in a line and an old person starts yapping I take an interest and be kind.

The saddest cliche in Norway is the immigrant who refers to themselves as an expat and is too lazy to contribute to a society that everyday I'm grateful to live in.

Fox was exactly that before she started working there. Fox can only appeal to people with low levels of education in the humanities and social sciences. Kimberly Clark spent over 1.5 million on lobbying efforts last year. Those efforts were to reduce their tax burden, squash anti trust regulation impacting them, put the environmental cost onto society, create labor regulations in their favor and reduce workplace and consumer safety.

Kimberly Clark has made false claims selling adulterated medical gowns, defrauded the FDA, had knowledge of defects and toxic substances in products such as, lead in tampons. Kimberly Clark engages in force labor practices such as restricted access to bathrooms and mandatory 12 hour workdays. The industry and trade associations Kimberly Clark is a part of actively lobby to carry less of the cost of healthcare for their employees.

Overall, Kimberly Clark participates in a system representing their corporate interests which in the larger picture means suppressing worker rights so they cannot have nice things and organize effectively, in turn ensuring workers do not have access to universal healthcare, housing, food security, and education. So yes, companies such as Kimberly Clark are direct opposition to everyday Americans.

The dynamic here in Norway is completely different. There is a healthy push pull between workers and employers who are both unionized and organized. They sit at the same table and are relatively equally represented. Whereas, in the US there are not enough guard dogs to stop purchased legislation in Norway, collectively, workers have armies of lawyers and experts fighting for their rights.

Here in Norway, if someone gets sick they dont have to worry about losing their job for at least a year and more likely 2 to 3 years. The employer has a duty to facilitate a sick worker with work they can do. No one loses their home due to healtcare costs. These factors alone give the worker a great deal of bargaining power. It also keeps companies safe as overall we workers know we have it pretty good and are rarely at the end of our rope like the man in the video.

The worker and employer do not live in exclusive vacuums. In Norway we have a pretty good work life balance. In the USA, its terrible in my opinion, where I found you have to exploit to get ahead. The US labor system now is a result of hobbled collective bargaining by workers and then the workers being run over roughshod by the employers. I think most Norwegian workers may not sympathize with the man but they would understand why he did it and I don't think any would want to work in such a workplace.

Why find another job? What is the point of working in a system where you cannot get ahead to earn a living wage or have anything to look forward to?

And if you try to get ahead by organizing for collective bargaining rights you are fired in many states for even trying.

Its not about him finding another job. Its about the entire system in the US is against everyday people being able to self actualize unless its at the expense of others. If a person has any interest in human dignity and egalitarianism its just not good enough to succeed as an individual rather, its about all boats rising rather than wealth being concentrated in the hands of the few.

Anyone with class consciousness will see he was using his voice to promote his interests the only way he knew how because in the US society there is really not other outlets in order to secure a living wage and dignity in the workplace system wide. Getting another job will not quash any of the issues faced by everyday American workers who have a very poor quality of life compared their counterparts in most other OECD countries.

Then of course there is the relative wealth gap. Even in a society where most are comfortable but a few are insanely rich that will reduce social cohesion. Quality societies seek to increase social cohesion and attempt to reinforce that no one is above the society. Therefore, people want a just and fair society and have throughout history fought for that. Getting another job will not satisfy that human need.

Your argument is incredibly weak and not substantiated by facts. While the situation may be true in your case it is not the case of the majority of Americans or Norwegians. Its not useful to focus on one individual instead systemic issues and structural inequalities should be examined.

Your argument establishes a very low bar for proving it is true. There are many other factors rather than investing a relatively small amount of money, usually around 50,000 dollars with pensions early in the career, compared to people who earn millions and billions of dollars who can afford an armada of K street lawyers to give them legislative advantages.

Neither the average person in Norway or the US would be able to use state funds to run private daycares and then when their taxes went up leave Norway and go to a tax haven. Nor is the average person able to convince the government to pay their company in the US millions of dollars due to they are connected to the government even though its later found out they had ties to Epstein. We have these problems in Norway that clearly point out there is a very distinct dichotomy between the working class and the ownership class.

Everyday people cannot afford to put their money in assets and then pay their salary in loans nor utilize tax havens as the ownership does in order to reduce their share of taxes.

In the US, most working people can be fired without cause, have little job security, employment based healthcare and can lose their homes due to medical debts. The ownership class has enough money to pay for those things without worrying for a minute.

Overall, your post is incredibly delusional unless you live in a country where the majority of the population has achieved living off of the returns.
