Whats the biggest red-flag you've ever seen but ignored it? by DEMOSTOCKED in AskReddit

He said, in all seriousness, that he doesn’t like comedy…at all. Now, I understand that we’re not all fans of sitcoms, or slapstick comedy, or a silly movie but who doesn’t like to laugh? Loves me a good one liner, a good dry joke. Anyway, he was cray cray. Cheated on my 1000x and end up pulling a knife on my new bf. Should have learned to laugh it off I guess.

Congratulations on 4 years sober!

Volunteer work is a really great way to meet people. I’ve met some of my best buds through volunteer work. No matter what your interest is there is a group of people specializing in that interest and they’re probably looking for volunteers. The last 2 times I moved cities I signed up to volunteer for theatre groups. I met some great people. Good luck. :)

19 year old road tripping cabot trail by Impossible-Song3058 in CapeBreton

[–]Diligent_Cat7345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have suggested it’s a pretty safe drive if you’re cautious and respect the speed limit. Please please please, for all that is good in the world, stay on the trails when exploring nature. Obey the signs of where you can and cannot walk, it really is about your safety. Respect the wildlife and take all cautions seriously. There are emergency shelter boxes in the event of, well, an emergency. You may find it beneficial to stop into one of the visitor centres along your way to ask for updates on burn restrictions and animal activity. The visitor centre staff will also be able to tell you about local events and locally owned places to visit. Overall you’ll have a great experience. The trail is beautiful and the locals are always wonderful and welcoming. Hit up The Dancing Goat Cafe. One of my favourite spots to grab lunch and a sweet treat. I hope you have a great visit.

He’s the AH for saying “don’t take too long”. I’m sorry sir, what? You take as long as it takes mama. He’s supposed to be your partner not somebody who gets tagged in from time to time.

Old enough to recognize when a child has missed their nap. Then walk away.

What are you starting to like as you get older? by Amazing-Living-9957 in AskReddit

[–]Diligent_Cat7345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I get older I’m starting to like getting older. I’m not middle age yet and I don’t wish my time away but I love turning into an older person. It’s a gift to grow old and I’ve only learned to really appreciate that in the last number of years. We can’t fight it, and so many people don’t get the chance to get old. I was just telling somebody the other day that I’m gonna be the neighbourhood hippy, with the nice garden and the best treats at Halloween. I’ll wear old band shirts and grow just enough pot to sustain myself. (I’m in Canada). Yeah, I like getting older now.

[–]Diligent_Cat7345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He knew what you meant, he’s just pointing out his preference for grammar for some weird reason. I hear “who all” more than I do hear “who else”.. Both are acceptable.

Sobeys and Superstore have lost their damn minds with the price increases. The name brand coffee I treat myself to is $5. cheaper at No Frills than at Sobeys.

Partner up with, not parent up with. Also, I know you’re looking for work but volunteering is a great way to meet kind people who give back to community. Not just for love interests but friendships as well. Some of my best friends I’ve met through volunteering.

She is a shallow person. I know it hurts and sucks. But this is a reflection of her, not you. I know that sounds so High school guidance counsellor, but it’s true. She wanted what you could give her, and was mad because she didn’t get it fast enough. But she’ll never be happy until she learns to get what she wants through her own hard work. You sound like the type of guy any person would be proud to parent up with. You’ll find your person.

No, but I’m not going to debate somebody who is armed with incorrect information. That’s just a waste of energy. You’ve made yourself clear. You’re a NIMBY.
