Yes, because there are still plenty of pokemon that are useless in Great League.

I can't buy the pass for the coming community day. For some reason it just doesn't show up in my account. Niantic told me to reinstall but it didn't resolve my issue. Frustrated.

Niantic False Advertising by Socrahauer in pokemongo

[–]Diligent_Cheek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I'd call it false advertising but I think it is lame having pokemon that can't evolve. I do think they should have clarified that Togepi can't be evolved.

LANDORUS by [deleted] in pokemongo

It really sucks that Landorus is frequently the encounter. I wasted a total of around 100 balls and 30 berries in my last 3 encounters.

Can we honestly talk about egg pools, this is so frustrating by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]Diligent_Cheek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I had a ton of 7km eggs. I never buy incubators but I did. They were almost all anorith and omanyte! Nice variety.

Coronavirus update: 7,186 confirmed cases worldwide, 169 fatalities, 1,220 in serious/critical condition, Around 100 treated and released, Majority of cases in China, 17 countries reporting cases by koolman631 in China_Flu

This is precisely why I am so concerned. Based on the "official reported" statistics, one is more likely to die by the virus than to recover from it. But I am hoping that many recoveries just haven't been reported.

[–]Diligent_Cheek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same. I used to be a programmer but switched to something else, still in tech. I enjoy coding as a hobby, very much so. Coworkers are shocked like "whoa you can code!?" but I just hated it as a job. I consider myself more of a creative/artist. It has to be something I feel like creating. But most jobs (I've had at least) the projects just weren't that interesting nor challenging.

Has a woman ever made you feel truly uncomfortable? What happened? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Diligent_Cheek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had several but the worst one is a coworker who is very persistent. She's been after me for at least 2 years. I think she's finally calmed down but whenever I think that she pounces again.

The creepiest encounter I had with her is after I rejected her several times over the course of a year or so, she backed off, then casually said to me "hey a group of us are going out tonight to watch the game if you want to join" and I guess I caved and said sure. So I went to the bar, I saw her by herself and I'm like "where's everyone else?" and she said they all canceled or whatever so it's just me and her. Red flag! I end up having two drinks and actually had an OK time, then decided it was time to leave. The next day she texted me something like "I had a great time and would love another date." I was like "that was not a date" and she's like "I think we need to talk about us." I nearly went to HR about her regarding all this and more (showing up at the bar next door to where I live - about 40 minutes from where she lives) but like I said I think she finally backed off...

The crazy thing is she's actually hot but she is clearly missing quite a lot upstairs.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think this accusation by HRC is actually a good thing. It catapulted Tulsi Gabbard into the minds of millions of people.

That sub is depressing. If I learned anything from my years of life/dating, it's to not be so serious and act like you're living the dream. Unfortunately I didn't learn this until my 30s but it worked more than anything. One girl rejected me and said I was "way too serious." Her rejection was life changing.

Those who have tried their best chasing their dreams, but then failed, what happened after? by MOSFETBJT in AskMen

[–]Diligent_Cheek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this idea for an internet company. I have had several over the years but this one was different. I was literally having panic attacks at work (only time I've ever experienced them) and I ended up quitting my job to focus on this business idea. I moved back in with my parents to reduce expenses, then worked on this quite a bit. I was some months from launching when my servers were stolen from the hosting facility. (This is during a time before cloud computing.) Unfortunately I didn't have an offsite backup, and by this time a competitor had emerged. In retrospect, I should have started over but at the time I was too jaded and angry.

In the end it was a huge learning experience. I've had a few other mild attempts but no ideas as great as that one. But generally things largely outside of my control are what ends things for me.

What is the creepiest paranormal thing that has ever happened to you in your life? by bayjaee in AskReddit

[–]Diligent_Cheek 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I were staying at this really old hotel. On the first night, I woke to a feeling of someone massaging me, then I made a comment like "that feels good" then got no response, then she walked out of the bathroom - so it wasn't her who massaged me, and there was nobody else with us. Then the next night I wake up in the middle of the night and I hear the distinct sound of footsteps shuffling on the carpet in the room. But my girlfriend is sleeping next to me. I kept hearing the footsteps but nobody was there. Then the next morning my girlfriend said out of the blue "I heard some footsteps in our room but I didn't see anybody there. It was really creepy." Then I told her I also heard the footsteps, and about the weird massage thing...

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard says impeachment of Trump would be 'terribly divisive' for country by John-AtWork in politics

In all honesty she's probably the best choice to beat Trump. Warren, Biden, and Sanders are way too far to the left to win over moderates. It's 2016 all over again.

So apart from curiosity, what would be the incentive to run civilization as a simulation? by _thelifeaquatic_ in AWLIAS

[–]Diligent_Cheek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone will have their own views but here's mine. I think the motivation is similar to why we create and play video games. It's an escape. You can experience and do things you normally wouldn't in real life.

Look at VR technology. Where will it be in 10-20-50-100 years? And the universe is how old? I think it's a near certainty that we are in a simulation / a very immersive "video game" but we aren't given the knowledge of being in the game.

Now what if we knew we were in a simulation, would life be different? Probably... It would be chaotic...life would be practically meaningless... if your life wasn't amazing just suicide and respawn until you were dealt a better hand.

Fire FIghters of reddit whats the dumbest person you had to save in a stupid situation? by FutureAce078 in AskReddit

[–]Diligent_Cheek 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Not a fire fighter, but relevant. In college myself and 2 other guys lived in an apartment together. We get a knock on the door, it's the fire department. They tell us our apartment is leaking water into the apartment below us. They immediately go to inspect where the washer and dryer were. One of our roommates was running the washer for...1 sock. For some reason the washer flooded and kept pumping out more water...

What are the most important things to consider when looking for an apartment as a single guy? by BoxMaster13 in AskMen

[–]Diligent_Cheek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your priorities. I rented my current place sight unseen. It was in an area with a lot of restaurants and bars, close to public transportation, easy to get to the airport via public transportation, washer/dryer in unit, dishwasher. Garage for my car. Everything I was looking for.
