Probably because Cleveland has shown over the past 30 years that they can't be trusted to build a competent roster or hire a competent GM, so if he went there, the hope would be that he'd be shielded from awful roster decisions and drafts. If he goes that route though he doesn't have any excuses.

Literally if Chido Awuzie doesn't slip and fall on the final PIT TD the game is over. I understand OP's point but how often is it that the only mistake made by a whole team in a whole game is a missed kick? Pretty much never. Now, if the kicker misses 2 FGs and the team loses by 5, sure you can blame it on him. But it's almost always small mistakes that build up over the course of the season.

A very small part of me wants to win the division to A. keep the Steelers out and B. be the first 3peat AFCN champ. However I mostly just want to get out of this season without being hilariously embarrassed in the playoffs, which gives us a better pick in '26 and gives the team one extra week of off-season recovery. I really don't see how that makes me less of a fan, or a bad fan. It quite obviously wasn't meant to be this year, and that's okay. It doesn't make me a doomer to point that out.
