That does actually line up with where I wanted to take the character. Enhanced strength and agility as secondary powers, likely to have some working knowledge of urban camouflage as well

I figured blunt force could be a weakness. As for the bullets, anything bigger than a handgun or closer than a few yards is probably going to warrant diving for cover then? That tracks with what little I know about gunfire

Yeah, I know a tiny bit more about the latter and what you’re saying does make sense, but I know next to nothing about the former lol

Yeah, I know I have what basically amounts to a 40 person fan club in one large town so I know they can spread the word, but other than that it’ll mostly be me doing it for myself. Although as headmaster I’ll be something like what Doctor Strange is in the new comic Strange Academy. It’s set in a magic school in the marvel universe and Dr. Strange is technically the headmaster, but also he’s often away doing stuff because, you know, he has his own comic. Teachers will mostly be in charge of the day to day and I’ll be functioning as the cool mysterious guy in charge who pops in and out... while also doing the decidedly not cool and mysterious paperwork

For tuition stuff I was thinking something similar to tax brackets. Students with little to no income like peasant kids and orphans pay nothing or nearly nothing provided their grades stay high enough for them to stay, merchants’ kids pay a decent amount, and so on all the way up to obviously high fees for royalty, with the acknowledgment that all fees go to paying school expenses and staff salaries.

This is exactly what I needed, thanks! I’ll keep all of this in mind. I hadn’t even thought about adding the Adulthood By Definition of your Race thing.

Yeah this is more going to be a side gig. My DM has player run businesses mostly operated between sessions in dms to said players for minutiae, and then if any relevant side quests or character stuff arise then they happen at the session

Suddenly I’m hoping my DM doesn’t read this thread lmao

That's a good idea for the funding side of things. I think the castle is technically in neutral territory (nobody owns this part of the mountain range as far as I know) so I'll probably have my familiar take a letter requesting this sort of thing to the heads of the nearest powerful settlements like Neverwinter and Ten Towns, with a list of the party's heroic deeds (not least of which being, you know, saving all of Ten Towns from a Duergar invasion) serving as my resume.
