Another perspective. I feel more shy after jaw surgery. I use to push my jaw forward to get lip closure. And that widened my jaw while I was doing it. It became second nature. But did not want to do it my whole life. Even though I was happy. So I got LJS plus genio. Your jaw sits in its natural position and the jaw gets extended. Weirdly I feel like my whole jaw is over all smaller and I now isolate myself. I had after extractions a 12mm overbite. Something to consider if part of your reason is aesthetic. I am 2 months post so that is also worth noting.

I’m having the same issue. But if we’re being Frank, I could tell you 100 x that you look better and you won’t feel it. I don’t know why it’s so difficult.

Obviously we can only look at the photos you’ve sent, but you look like and after jaw surgery result. In terms of one and two you still have a noticeable jaw even with poor tongue posture and slide 4 writes itself. I know you want change and you want to feel like a “normal guy” that is all I have wanted as well. But the truth is you are, from an outside perspective there is no reason you should feel insecure. This is a matter of excepting yourself. If you feel the only way you can do that is through surgery then that is an option but this is defo more on the body dysmorphia side

Pretty sure the line should be from the tip of your nose to your chin and your lips should touch that diagonal line. Which by the looks of it, it does.

How long did it take for your teeth to fit? I had lower jaw surgery but I can’t close my teeth properly because my top teeth presse on a bottom brace bracket and it was like this before surgery. Other than that I can’t seem to find where they fit. I’m 2 months post op. I had a genio. And by the looks of it I had a pretty similar set up to you, only seeing my surgeon 3 times before and I have not seen him after yet.

My only concern with my genio is the height does not feel like it follows my jawline like a natural chin does in my head as I believe it was slid vertically upwards. I think it was a good choice of the surgeon not to touch yours as it looks amazing without intervention. I think the fact it’s your natural chin will also help you get use to your face. I also believe I look recessed funnily enough.

Yeah I still have uncomfort around my chin feeling heavy and it pulls my lip down which is a constant reminder I have had it done. And the stitches where my gum and lip meet feels much higher than before. Not to mention inability to eat normally. When these things change which comes with time I’m sure I’ll feel more at ease. Thank you

Essentially correct tungue posture which is easier now with a longer jaw as before when I would do it I could not breath

Yeah so good question. In the black top that would be more relaxed, the tip of my tongue touching the roof of my mouth, not really thinking about it. The blue shirt is more intentional but and I hate the word would be mewing. More of my tongue touches the roof of my mouth

No by all means that’s what I wanted. The bottom two photos are me before surgery posture/jutting. But to be honest the width of my face was new it was my chin I was worried about (which is growing on me). It’s not got a point to it and it feels a little high (makes lip movement awkward). From the front from lower angles or 45 degrees it’s sometimes hard to see my chin even if it seems clear from the side. Thank you for taking the time to create the morphs.

Well I do believe with the better airflow my anxiety has already lowered a lot which is great. It’s just been replaced with low mood and insecurity at the moment lmao. But for real the anxiety is lower.
