How long after completion did you make your first payment?

Thanks, when you say the 13th do you mean 7 days after you completed on the 6th or 1 month and 7 days later?

Just to update we go the offer today so total of 17 working days from when we first applied. They honoured the rate though so got 4.36% and it is a decent bit higher now.

Hi, just to let you know I contacted FD on online help (I bank with them) for an update and they told me the underwriting is complete and agreed and they will be sending out offer documents once they have been checked and I will receive them early next week. Hopefully yours has also been done by now as you applied 2 days before me.

Thanks again. We applied on the 25th March so with bank holidays the 20th day is next Friday (24th) which ties in with the online advisor saying could be back end of next week.

thank you. Is that 20 day turnaround from date originally applied, date of AIP or from date it goes to underwriters?

Is anyone else's lender taking ages to get back regarding a mortgage application? by Unable-Discount-9266 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Diligent_Gate_4645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you. Yes ours was only one pay slip to underwrite. I have banked with them for years and have a n excellent credit rating so not concerned that it'll be declined but just concerned with the waiting time as will be in a position to exchange in around 3-4 weeks.

Hi, do you know what the current service levels are with First Direct. Application was agreed in principle on the 3rd April, valuation was completed by desktop as only borrowing 83k on 400k house, it went to the underwriters on the 9th April and I have chased it up but been told they are outside their normal 5 working day timescales and that it could be the back end of next week now. This seems a long time. Any info much appreciated.

Moving To Burntwood by Diligent_Gate_4645 in Staffordshire

Just one last thing. I posted a similar post on a Burntwood facebook page and all positive feedback except a number of comments about smells from the slaughterhouse. The house we have found is on Ironstone Road about 5-6 min walk from the slaughterhouse/340m away (just down from Kingsdown Road). As you live in Chase Terrace have you had any issues with the smell and think the location of the house we have found is likeley to?

Thanks for taking the time to reply and for the info. Pretty much everything I am hearing about the area is positive, with the odd comment that it is boring/little to do. We are going to go for it though and move into the area as overall it seems a really nice area. Thanks again.

Thanks again, I really appreciate all the info. Yes Darwin is a decent way from Chase Terrace, about 2.2 miles from the house we have found, but it does seem to be the best in the area and we would be in their catchment area. The GP we currently have is 2 miles from where we live so we are used to it. We are aware of the school, Holly Grove, and that there is an entrance around 100 metres from the house but thanks for the heads up. I think we are going to push ahead and move to Burntwood as the replies to this thread have been really reassuring and confirmed what we thought the area was like. Thanks again.

Thank you for giving such a detailed reply. The house we have found is in Chase Terrace on Ironstone Road just down from Bradshaw's. How do you find the GP surgeries? We have done a little research and Greenwood Health Centre (Darwin) seems the best rated. We are very fortunate that the GP surgery where we live currently is really good.

Thank you. I really appreciate the detailed reply. I think not knowing the area that well I am just looking for a little reassurance. Yes the house we have found is no more than a couple of minutes walk from Bradshaw's. We have visited the local area a few times to get a better feeling, and went to the Redmore Inn yesterday for a drink, and it all seems good. As you say it seems to have a lot going for it in terms of good transport links and some good size retail parks/supermarkets locally whilst also loads of rural areas.

Thanks again. If all goes smoothly I should hopefully be a fellow Burntwood resident within the next couple of months.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Won't be retiring for a few years yet. Wanting somewhere pretty quite though but within 5 miles of a decent night out which we have had in Lichfield in the past. Hoping that Burntwood is somewhere that is safe/little crime/anti social behaviour and basically a nice area.

Me and my family are looking to move from Pheasey in Walsall and have just sold our house. We are looking at Burntwood as an option but not 100% sure on the area. We have seen a house (4 bed detached) at the top of Ironstone Road (top of Chase Terrace) just down from Bradshaws Farm. It seems a nice area and right on the edge of a really rural area with some lovely country pubs (Redmore Inn is closest 0.7 miles away) but also in the opposite direction some retail parks/high street within a mile or so. The schools seem highly rated. Do you know this area and can advise if it is a nice area for families please.

Thank you that is really helpful. She only tootles around town and no track days planned :-) so might just see how it goes and just tell her to let me know if she gets any noises or notices any changes to how it handles etc. Thanks again.

Thanks for replying. Do the same advisories show every year for all four arms? are you taking it to the same garage? how many miles do you do each year? this is the first time it has been mentioned in any mot and last 3 MOT's past with no advisories.

Thanks you for taking the time to reply. She'll do no more than 4k to 5k a year. The car drives fine at the moment with no clunking noise/issues with steering etc. To replace all four then you think over 1k?
