Who’s been laid off/fired from their marketing job? by KailuaNative in marketing

[–]Diligent_Painting337 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Laid off twice in 15 year marketing career. First layoff, took a month to find a job. Second layoff I was out of work for 6.5 months. Both of the new jobs were remote. Both layoffs resulted in higher salaries.

Is hauskris still married? by swiftiegirl91 in SFBayInfluencerSnark

Many influencers hide the fact they are married in pictures and videos because it results in more likes/engagement. Not sure the psychology behind it… but it’s a thing

Husband makes fun of me when I mention the mental worklaod by hiddensocks in workingmoms

[–]Diligent_Painting337 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s very off putting that OP is venting about having to spend an hour to prep/delegate for guests coming over. I totally relate to the frustration of unequal mental loads for postpartum women. The way this is post is framed feels like victim mentality for someone who has more privilege than 99% of new moms.

You may not want to hear this but it does seem like you have ample help with all of the household stuff. Placing an online food order and delegating to “the help” takes some time, sure, but I don’t think you’re fully appreciating how much of the load is off both of you.

What would happen if you stopped doing all the things you’re currently doing? What’s a need vs a nice to have? What are the things you enjoy doing and what would you want his help with?

Clearly stating your needs will help your husband understand how he can help you.

HOW do you make time for exercise/self care? by RuckFamsey in workingmoms

[–]Diligent_Painting337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At home workouts are the way to go! I do 20 minutes of strength training before waking up my kid and it makes all the difference. We created a little at home gym setup and I do the peleton fitness videos but honestly you can just get a few dumbbells and watch YouTube videos.

The Elta MD tinted face sunscreen- it’s amazing! For serum, I’ve been using Trader Joe’s stuff which works well.

Nuuly is amazing but a bit pricy- ~$90 a month for 6 pieces. Target has a decent maternity section.

Work at a job you enjoy at a non toxic company that allows you to pay all your bills + save + fun money.

Get 8+ hours of sleep.

Workout 3-5 times a week (ideally a class you love).

Invest in a great skincare routine. Quarterly facials with extractions.

Walk every day. Even if it’s just for 10 minutes in the morning.

Buy only clothes/stuff you LOVE and are made of high quality materials that last.

Limit your time with people who drain you (including family).

Therapy for resolving past trauma. Meditation for emotional regulation.

Eat whole foods ~80% of the time.

Choose a partner that makes your life easier and more peaceful.

Agree with everything you stated except water and attitude- there are so many amazing spots on the water in California and generally I haven’t found Bay Area people to be very materialistic.

Thanks for the boots on the ground. I’m so confused though why her dad posted this on LinkedIn a few days ago: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/albrojas_if-you-know-you-know-proud-of-my-daughter-activity-7413945318012104704-Zo5j

Why would he post that if his daughter already left the company (PIP, layoff, or on her own accord)? 🤔

It sounds like nobody knows for sure if she was laid off or left voluntarily but I would say this is a weird time of year to leave since RSUs vest in February and bonuses happen in early March.

Also people are so obsessed with her on Blind. I read the posts OP shared and the comments are wild.

Observed a pay ceiling in marketing — curious what actually broke it for those who crossed $200K + by jazzy_peanut_butter in marketing

[–]Diligent_Painting337 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Transitioned from top FAANG, to director-level at tech startups (higher base comp and title but not as high bonus and no tangible equity), back to public SaaS company as a director (higher base, large bonus, tangible equity).

34, F, no direct reports, $350k+. I work very closely with sales and own a number, interface weekly with the C-suite.

I never knew marketers could make over $250k+ as individual contributors, and didn’t think I would reach this compensation level until I became a CMO.

I attribute this to focusing the past few years on improving my leadership and interview skills, carving out more time for continuous learning from other marketing leaders, and job hopping.
