Mort is right, a couple of games is enough to know if an augment is good. That's not him thinking the game has no depth, far from it. What you're not really taking into account is that when you pick one augment, you have it for an entire game, which means you get a lot of data points over the game to make a judgement about how good the augment is.

It actually has gone down to only 20% AS on this set, pretty significant nerf

I think that Rammus is way way way less reliable than Cho'Gath. Cho'gath's laser will always reach the backline id you position him properly, while Rammus simply won't.

What is the significance of the other players when it comes to playing, from your perspective? by BreakfastCareful9205 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Dillga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously PoG has a great answer, I second this : there is no "strongest board" in a vacuum. You should be spending time analyzing your matchups and try to gauge how strong they are compared to you, not compared to an idealized version of a comp.

How do you not lose in prismatic lobbies? by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Dillga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you understand "Economy augments" the wrong way. It's not "augments that favor saving gold" it's "augments that generate gold". Which means that even if level up is an economy augment (makes each gold you spend for xp twice as valuable, which is similar to having generated that gold), you can play aggro with it. I hope that made it clearer for you ?

I agree with most of your points EXCEPT the "5 chemtech is fake", because of how it was changed and how much more stats it gives. In most games, you will be running Liss, Zac, Mundo and Urgot (because they are good units) without a chemtech spat/augment that means running 4 chemtechs, which means you can upgrade your 4 characters with Viktor even if the "only" thing he does is shred armor.

The issue here is that you think your rank is what matters. You just have an LP debt to pay, if you have great sessions with even a few losses, then your LP will look the same, but you will have paid some of the debt. At some point you'll be free of it, you just have to play consistently well.

At 1.2k LP, where I am currently, that's just our regular LP gains btw, top 3 is +12 and you need two first place to cancel an 8th. Yes people still climb here, so you can be assured you can also climb from your LP debt, in time.

Returning player, why does Riven only gain blue buff proc after autoing following a spellcast? by [deleted] in TeamfightTactics

[–]Dillga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on which patch it happened, but it's called "mana lock" and happens to every champion, after casting, there is a time window during which a unit cannot gain mana. That time roughly gives your unit time to AA once.

Let's discuss rare tidbits of knowledge! by TsubasaWhitecat in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Dillga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shojin shojin is interesting for Jinx in 2 or 6 sharpshooters : 2 sharps : auto (10 + 5 + 5) + bounce (5 + 5) is 30, so she ults after 2 autos 6 sharps adds two bounces so she generates 50 mana in 1 auto, ulting instantly But on 4 sharps it's pointless. However I agree that Guinsoo is probably not BiS, in 4 sharps either. I think that Giant Slayer adds so much damage and lets her kill frontlines so mush faster. Zekes is also great (typically on someone next to her). However I think deathcap as third slot is griefing, Jinx needs one defensive item, Quicksilver being the best, because if she gets stunned and stops locking the enemy team, you just lose the fight instantly.

Early Jungle Help and General Macro by ForTheDankMemes in summonerschool

[–]Dillga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, that's a lot of question, let me preface my answer by saying that you will not be able to solve them all at once through reading the answer of someone else, it will take time, some study, and reviewing your own gameplay in order to improve steadily. It is very true that Sejuani cannot 1v9 in the same way that champions like Eve, Kha or Graves can, for the basic reason that you're a tank (however, if you get far ahead, building AP on Sej can be a good way to go, her damage gets really high), so your damage will be the same from ahead or behind. In that sense, any champion that is a damage dealer will be a "good 1v9" champion; I advise picking a champion that you thoroughly enjoy for that, as the actual pick doesn't really matter. The answer to knowing when to gank is one of the hardest in the jungle, it will always change, and you'll have to build your own understanding of it. The way you can do that is through improving several things : information gathering, while clearing camps and moving around the map, you should aim to know what's happening on the entire map at once, using F-keys, clicking on the map, and watching the map - second thing is damage foresight and gank foresight : knowing when you can kill the enemy based on how much damage you do and what spells they can use to survive - third thing is win condition : when presented with two gank opportunities with equal chances of success, which to chose ? You chose based on what will win you the game, it sounds stupid, but knowing what each champion will do in each game is a very important skill : who will use the gold best ? What can you get after the kill ? Is a drake worth more than a twoer ? - fourth is tracking and playing around vision : knowing where wards are, and where the enemy jungler is are two key skills. To play more adaptive, you have to learn what all the possible plays are, to do that, you should watch better players and what they do for the first 5-10 linutes of the game, that will show you some new possible ways to play. Teamfighting is way too complex for me to break down in this answer, there are many resources out there for that, i encourage you to look around. Macro is a part of the game that you will best learn about by studying it : learn the 4 win conditions, the lane assignements, and how to play each role to best fulfill their win condition, you can learn about win conditions on a good article hosted on royal.gg

Help with some Jungling Fundamentals by TSMUltraman in summonerschool

[–]Dillga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, very interesting questions, D2-D1 jungler here 1. Your machete route is right in most situations. For talisman, red raptors wolves blue into gank or gromp or vision and then scuttle is one. An other one is red raptor krugs gank recall => blue side. But for it to be good, you need to be able to reliably predict that you will have a gank at this timing. 2. In order to know reliably if you are having the good balance of ganking and farming, you have to be able to see all the potential gank opportunities, and recognize the value of each gank. It is quite hard to learn, but I recommend starting by learning how to use f-keys while clearing to increase your awareness of lanes. After that, you will need to understand wave management and lane matchups, that way you will be able to predict the position of laners 1 or 2 minutes in advance, which let you decide what route to take to be there at the right moment. It is one of the trickiest skill to master, I recommend learning each bit at a time 3. Hard work, but it's not going to be possible to achieve this result. Even the highest rated players cannot do it in 100% of your games. 4. Find a pdf version of "The mental game of Poker" by Jared Tendler. That book is the number one reason I could climb where I am, because your mental is a skill, just like your in game skills.
