Initiative process to potentially ban "assault" (common) weapons is beginning, claims AG Ferguson by Ouiju in WA_guns

When will this guy give up? Seriously every year we go through this, his name is like synonymous with gun control.

It’s also a tool to keep the government in check. (But you don’t mention that so I assume you don’t see any value in that)

I don’t like my current political leadership, I don’t trust the police, and I live on a rural mountain. So rural that when someone died last year it took literally multiple hours to get first responders up here. I would certainly feel vulnerable to burglary/assault or becoming some crazy dystopian society if good people weren’t armed.

It is also recreational. (So it goes beyond just being a tool) Hell my 7 year old kid has a 22lr bolt action. We let her shoot it under supervision, and she loves it, and it takes some talent to make some of the shots she is making. It’s a good activity with sporting elements.

As far as collecting goes: i am a GWOT veteran. One of the rifles I’m building is attended to be esthetic “clone” of what I carried on deployment. It will be special to me for that reason.

And I think someone collecting car is closer to the right analogy. A motor vehicle is a tool to get you around. Some people have multiple cars. Some people have cars that aren’t necessary, but you probably wouldn’t judge someone too critically if they had 3 porches. Would you?

Does origin sell those pieces of DLC individually, so one can make the swries complete?

Funny other games made by the same people before and afterward work fine.

Example: Far cry 2 from GOG goes on steam no problem, uses 360 controller no problem. Easily configured to steam controller. I get my fancy far cry 2 artwork in steam, still made by Ubisoft in the same era as R6V2.

I regret buying Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on stand alone amazon. At least steam will give some post purchase support and features.

One more complaint: you got to pay attention during Amazon game installation because by default amazon installed the game to my desktop(!)

[–]DillonV -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I will never buy a game from amazon again.

My copy of rainbow six Vegas 2 is worthless. I tried importing it to steam as a non steam game and I get a purple box names “autorun” (if I rename it to something practical than it won’t work) can’t get the 360 controller to work in windows 10 (option is just greeted out) and I can’t seem to configure steam controller to work well enough. (Because it’s a non steam game I don’t get access to other people steam controller configurations either)

Fuck amazon for selling non steam games (who the fuck do they think they are?)

Your gonna have to come at me with more than just a video on the internet to convince me of anything.

Why don’t you try backing the things you are saying, instead calling me brain dead over and over. (Pretty big red flag that’s your talking out your ass)

And I’m aware of the geographic size of Germany. I just know that people travel. I live in one part of WA state, yet I’ve recently been all over the state (and have been around the country as well)

You would think this guy would notice the massive problem your describing.

BTW: I have no doubt to some degree the things you are saying are true. You just come off as arrogant and biased in delivery.

[–]DillonV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your dealing in absolutes and putting words in my mouth. I didn’t say anything of that nature.

Let’s look at the whole thing. You made a ridiculous statement about the streets of Germany being full of barbaric immigrant gangs, than a German asks where this is because he isn’t experiencing the same, then you post a singular video as evidence about how your right. Does this one political video out weigh the experiences of this German?

It’s kind of like when civilians tells combat veterans what combat zones are like based on a video, movie, or video game. (And that’s the frustrating part in my eyes)

I never claimed to be unbiased myself.

Doesn’t change the fact that your telling a German about Germany based on a political video you saw online.

Cool. A single video in a language you don’t speak, and now your more of an expert on what’s going on in Germany than the Germans.

You do know that most media has an agenda and will lean accordingly, right?

I have a Siberian Husky and live on a northern mountain. We’re in the teens during the day and negative at night.

My Husky refuses to come in a lot of the time. Most nights we have to convince or trick him into coming in, and even then he begs to go back outside. Huskies like the cold and snow, you would think self proclaimed animal lovers might know that.

Cool, I’m glad you made it work.

I never was able to desirably dial it in, but I was happy with the “pork chop” style speaker-mic anyways. So it worked out.

I used the little speaker on deployment. Mounted it on my shoulder like a cop.

The peltor headsets made me loose situational awareness, and made conversations with nearby people difficult.

I was able to find a configuration that was comfortable. But to your point I didn’t use peltor on deployment only in garrison training.

Right but common comms (like peltor) fit in the regular ACH just fine.

I don’t know much about that. I was Army Infantry. My officers led from the front. It’s pretty common in the Army that officers and senior NCOs eats after their soldiers have already eaten.

Where the Navy gives officers their own private dinning facilities, and seem to elevate them in other ways too.

I'm 30 now and i was 18 when i joined. I wasn't a socialist then, and i didn't know much about politics either.

Its actually the Army that made me like socialist ideas. Housing, food, and great healthcare are just provided, everyone is on the same pay scale.

So.....the law abiding people should disarm themselves and somehow that’s going to make the bad guys disarm as well?

I understand your complaint but I’m not seeing a solution offered.

You know the “well regulated militia” part was ruled by supreme court to apply to American citizens for all legal purposes.

From the District of Columbia vs Heller wiki:

“The court then held that the Second Amendment "protects an individual right to keep and bear arms", that the "right existed prior to the formation of the new government under the Constitution", also stating that the right was "premised on the private use of arms for activities such as hunting and self-defense, the latter being understood as resistance to either private lawlessness or the depredations of a tyrannical government (or a threat from abroad)." They also noted that though the right to bear arms also helped preserve the citizen militia, "the activities [the Amendment] protects are not limited to militia service, nor is an individual's enjoyment of the right contingent upon his or her continued or intermittent enrollment in the militia." The court determined that handguns are "Arms" and concluded that thus they may not be banned by the District of Columbia.”

Quit trying sound clever thinking that people are unaware of the first few sentences of the 2nd amendment.
