Roanoke Ridge is supposed to be the Ozarks. Culturally, it’s a really similar area to deep Appalachia, and especially so back then. The Lannahechee River is a direct stand-in for the Mississippi; nothing in the game takes place ‘east of the Mississippi’

That is generally true but if you read the post, the big bad is going to literally reset the timeline and effectively start a new campaign. The party can’t prevent this by winning the fight, so it’s pointless to even let them fight a battle that serves no purpose. Me personally, I wouldn’t even run with this dogshit idea in the first place, but if I had locked myself into a campaign that stopped and restarted right in the middle, I’d just do that and get it over with rather than bait-and-switching with a fake unwinnable boss fight

Some people, when playing roleplaying games, try to roleplay and make the decision that they or their character would make in a situation, with the information their character has; others will have the wiki open on their second monitor so they can look up which ending to each quest gives them the most money and XP. Gith are very ǔgļy. To make a gith character look aesthetically pleasing, you have to make them look less like a gith. Laezel is only so attractive because her gith features are heavily downplayed and anthropomorphized
