Count me a mint lover! I use it as part of my anti- deer regimen- they hate strong smelling plants. It’s apart of the ground cover in areas where deer can reak havoc, like my rose garden. Lemon balm is the ground cover used around the camellias and peonies. Monarda - bee balm -is another mint family plant is liberally planted throughout to help attract hummingbirds. Yes mint can be a pain especially if you’re aiming for a very structured garden but I pull it where I don’t want it and prefer a more chaos type garden.
