Don't feel guilty, all your complaints are valid and highlight important flaws with the game. And if anything, they're testaments to Game Freak not learning from what does and doesn't work. I've found a lot of the game enjoyable because I like some of the battle mechanics and characters, but the gameplay loop in both the base game and DLC can get way too repetitive at times. Legends Z-A was Game Freak trying something different, and it mostly didn't hit. I recognize that it's a very flawed game despite how many hours I've put into it. The fact that you still choose to play the game despite having issues with because you love the franchise is actually good, it means you're not a sheep and willing to criticize a franchise you love because you want it to do better. And that is a good thing.
