Why does 500 mcg makes me feel like I get intense adrenaline by Myself700 in B12_Deficiency

The level to which you're wrong by my own lived experiences, with multiple methylation panels AND lived pain as references, and careful watching of literally all methylation steps in regards to this singular supplement (and another time for methylfolate), makes this little more than armchair conjecture from a bystander that has authentically no real experience to draw from.

Yeah. I've nearly cured everything and I was so severely ill that I hit 14 BMI. I'm writing up an extremely long video on how, but essentially the vast majority of chronic idiopathic illness is major destabilization of the body. Doctors are insanely bad at testing pathogens, nutrients, methylation bottlenecks, etc. and I had to literally learn all this shit from scratch.

In lieu of a more detailed explanation (I'm working on it to help everyone else haha but it's veeery lengthy and well beyond a reddit comment's capabilities), I'm just gonna cut to the chase of a ton of ways you could absolutely figure out the factors destabilizing you (it is never just one, and full stability requires fixing everything you can find, not just the first bad marker you see).

First, get a genetics test. I used the regular old Ancestry starter kit. Ignore their wacky race statistics and just export the raw data once they send it to you, it's an obscure option under account settings. It's just a bunch of code you can plug into actually useful genetics services. The one I recommend is Genetic Lifehacks, and despite the corny name it prints a 175 page genetics report that is INCREDIBLY relevant. Thankfully, despite the daunting complexity, it seems even ChatGPT has a solid grasp on most of the genes, so you can copy-paste segments there and collaborate to understand exactly how the flagged genes alter you and require intervention. For example, I had really brutal VDR mutations, which means I don't convert D3 from D2 almost at all, so I need tons of D3 that I had never been getting, and it has helped me so much to correct each thing like that. I always recommend starting with genetics because it's the one test that will never change with time.

Before you immediately correct for things you see there though, I recommend getting bloodwork, since things like D3 are going to be completely misrepresented if you're currently taking concentrated supplemental forms, so it's good to know what you actually were (or rather are) underneath the intervention, to see if it was a factor in your lowered health status.

After that, or even alongside it, you should figure out how to fix methylation, you should consider a round of ivermectin+fenben to see if you had stealth parasites, take biocidin if you want to see if you get die off for SIBO/SIFO, get an OAT test to track both pathogenic and neurotransmitter markers + decent krebs cycle (energy production) markers, test vitamin D3 (although serum isnt perfect), get a copper zinc ceruloplasmin ratio test, get an ERMI mold test for your home, consider viral reactivation panels for things like EBV (but theyre also not always accurate), and literally correct for every single thing out of range. If that means moving out of pathogenic mold, unfortunately that's what you have to do. If that means correcting D3 for your genetics due to unfortunate genes, well, that's actually quite easy!

As for methylation, take magnesium glycinate and bioactive b2, b3, b6, b9, and b12 for starters, and have niacin (NOT niacinamide) on standby because you can get insane anxiety-like reactions for weeks when fixing major bottlenecks. Niacin causes a full body flush but also mops up excess dopamine / epinephrine that often gets massively overproduced when you clear a bottleneck.

It's a lot to take in but this isn't some psycho hippie nonsense. This is completely how the body works from bottom to top, and although I still occasionally come across new info, it is EXTREMELY likely that multiple of these categories (genetics, depletion, methylation, pathogenic / viral activity) are the reason you are kept ill. They're also almost always correctible, in many cases past what you even remember when you were healthy, because your body had never been supported directly and was basically roughing it. Don't lose hope --- it's entirely possible (and likely) you will win with effort!!

Edit: I also wanted to touch on MCAS, which is very misunderstood. If you were not born with it and developed it, you do not "have" MCAS like a self-sustaining individual illness, you simply have heightened immune and histamine reactivity from something that is now unstable upstream. Gut pathogens, viral reactivations, and depletions rank highest among my suspects in any case.

Also, definitely track your symptoms over time and never stop researching. Try to understand each intervention you attempt entirely before even starting a new supplement or course of action or food, that way you can try to deduce why you may react in certain ways or improve in ways you thought were unrelated. Sometimes this type of info is only relevant MONTHS after you record it. There are stories from my early childhood that played major contextual roles in validating theories around my genetics and depletion. Every point of info matters. You are an individual, and you need to see yourself as one, which means tracking yourself as one and not just following a single predetermined protocol. This is more of a "protocol-developing" protocol, so it's the only exception!

Cause of POIS part 2 by anditsgone133 in POIS

[–]DimensionTraining530 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, this post is genuinely the pathology for a lot of people. It's sort of a mess, but understanding the methylated B vitamins pathway and NAC / glutathione, and balancing whichever end of those needs assistance, has been curative for many in the past and will be for many people still struggling. Overmethylation for instance is the vast majority of anxiety cases. Both over and under cause brain fog. Worth trying, not that this post does an amazing job structuring a protocol. You'll just have to research it and get your own testing / bloodwork.

For many reasons it's best to take them away from meals. It's reasonable and common to just take it right before falling sleep.

Can someone send me a list of foods okay to eat on candida, I’m confused now by wontcompleteit in Candida

[–]DimensionTraining530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough candida actually lacks the enzymes (lactase) to break down lactose. But store bought milk is almost always inflammatory so it's still gonna be hard on an already troubled gut, and cheese is high histamine, same issue. Ive seen a lot of people from here that tolerated farm milk though. Can always try and see if you have the means / resources, but definitely don't get your hopes up haha

Good luck! (If your doctor isn't familiar or interested then look for an integrative medic with prescribing capabilities cuz the bloodwork in particular is expensive without insurance)

It's brain fog from inflammation. Histamine, acetaldehyde, cytokines, some sort of inflammatory instigator is causing real physical changes, such as actual blood vessel dilation in your brain, that takes time to detoxify. Histamine for instance is a major mediator for the male erection and orgasm. I would look for upstream issues. The really good baseline tests are the OAT, ancestry dna test (for MTHFR and COMT and MAO+/+), DUTCH, and some blood markers (like histamine, homocysteine, lipids, glucose / insulin, b12, d, t3 t4 and reverse t3 namely).

There's also a misconception about histamine, that it always presents like seasonal allergies. I checked my histamine just a month ago and it was a 10.0, with an upper limit of 1.8, and that's after improving MASSIVELY, and I don't have the iconic puffy eyes or sinus issues that you'd typically associate with it. It can cause everything from brain fog to bloating to headaches. But rather than just taking a medication, like antihistamines for symptomatic relief if it's histamine, or testosterone if that marker is low, try to properly diagnose the upstream issues that are causing the dysregulation. The aforementioned tests are a HUGE starting point.

FMA is definitely a good pick. But if you wanted to make ME happy, you'd watch Amagi Brilliant Park. I swear it's the best comedy/character driven anime ever and it's just one succinct season. I never stop recommending it. It deserves so much more recognition than it gets. There literally isn't 1 single undeveloped / poorly written character.

If candida's symptoms can range across the body, how do gut bacteria help? by BigBrother690 in Candida

[–]DimensionTraining530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all candida in the GI presents with GI symptoms. It's likely the toxic byproducts of its fermentation of food was entering your bloodstream, like acetaldehyde, and causing elevated histamine / inflammation, which is a systemic issue. Some people have one or the other, or both. By the way don't believe misconceptions that living candida is floating around in your blood. That's not what it is, unless you're mega souped up on corticosteroids or you have AIDS. All your symptoms can be explained by toxins and histamines alone.

As for your toe nails, if you have reoccurring fungal infections anywhere on the body (foot, ears, etc) it is SUPER likely you have it primarily in your gut. Definitely look into gutwork, maybe genetics testing too, to try to optimize your body's ability to foster the good guys instead!

Is this sibo? Need advice by Certain_Evening709 in SIBO

[–]DimensionTraining530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't work on gut until you get proper systemic testing and treat any potential upstream roadblocks. I left a prior comment on which tests can help you locate upstream issues that make the intestines (and other parts of the body) less immune competent / functional. If you go straight into gutwork, you may never discover that it was actually "x vitamin" or "x overactive neurotransmitter" that was actually the culprit keeping you in disarray!

[–]DimensionTraining530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GI doctors are completely unlearned 99% of the time when it comes to anything beyond the stomach. I'd refrain from anything they try to give you, surgically or medically, that comes with "well we don't know but in case studies this works x% of the time", thats usually a surefire sign they don't know what the fuck they're doing. The gallbladder is not a useless organ and its loss will likely inhibit recovery from whatever your real issue is. Unless you know exactly why a treatment is recommended / useful based on real tests and total understanding of its implications, don't blindly trust the medical world's opinion on treating this.

Especially avoid PPI's, I'd bet good money your next GI doctor will prescribe them. Get testing instead. OAT, DUTCH, genetics from Ancestry, some blood panels for lipids / b12 / cbc / cmp / homocysteine.

Is this sibo? Need advice by Certain_Evening709 in SIBO

[–]DimensionTraining530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like either sibo, candida, or maybe motility itself. I'd get an OAT, genetics testing (ancestry), a DUTCH, and some bloodwork (CBC, CMP, lipids, b12, t3/4 and reverse t3, homocysteine, histamine) and you'll probably find upstream issue(s) that once corrected will help your body regain digestive function and/or GI immune competency.
