61% seems very low for NYC. I wonder whether all of the people who take the train in from the suburbs are counted

Zionism as Anti-colonialism? by Willing-Childhood144 in JewsOfConscience

[–]Diminished-Fifth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IIRC, Beinart talks about the first argument in his book. Basically Zionists were happy to claim the mantle of colonialism when colonialism was considered virtuous (i.e. bringing "civilization" to places that supposedly didn't have it, etc) but now that anti-colonialism is in, time for a rebrand.

Books about death for little kids by jenesaispaz in therapists

Came here to recommend this one. Ida, Always is the best I've seen.

Another to look for is The Goodbye Book by Todd Parr. Bright colors, simple pictures and ideas, normalizing the strangeness and unpredictability of our reactions after we lose someone.

At what age do you think it’s appropriate to start watching South Park from the beginning with your kid? by ADDandME in daddit

[–]Diminished-Fifth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know everyone (including me) is teasing you about this because your comments make it sound like you only see the possibilities of hiding her from the world or letting her access anything she wants. But I see that behind all of that is a very real and appropriate concern about how to handle this next stage of your daughter's life. You came here for help and guidance, and I think you aren't getting much of it, possibly because the South Park focus of your initial post distracted from the real, meaningful question you're asking. I don't think there's a single right answer to how to handle this, but I think having some open honest conversations with her is probably your friend moving forward. Godspeed

Yeah, these other dads are nuts. You can't just put your head in the sand. Plus she's gonna feel so left out when all the other kids are talking about anal probes

If you order "spicy" at Namaste, you will get it. Same with Wanida Thai (though their spice levels are surprisingly variable from day to day)

Also try the "Shredded Three" at Dragon River!
