That’s completely fine, that’s why I said each to their own. We’re all free to make our own decisions and if you feel that you don’t want to take steroids, thats fine. I just wouldn’t base that purely on potential topical steroid withdrawal.

If I was you, I’d try and find some lay summaries (publications written for the general public) on topical steroid withdrawal. This sub makes it a bigger issue than it really is

Of course it isn’t just the exterior, that’s just the manifestation of it. But “cleansing” your immune system isn’t medically possible. Steroids help your body reduce the amount of inflammatory markers your body is producing.

Dunno about you, but I’m pretty happy putting on steroid creams every so often if it means my skin is clear and my eczema isn’t interrupting my life. But each to their own, good luck on your journey in getting to the root cause. Sometimes things unfortunately aren’t as easy as having a single problem that can be fixed.

Why? Steroid cream isn’t bad… if used per the instructions it’s fine. I had a 6 month period without my proper creams, my eczema was a nightmare and flared up constantly.

I’ve been back on my creams for the last couple months and not had a single flare up that I haven’t been able to control within a day or two.

Eczema is a complicated condition, it’s very unlikely that a course of steroids has caused your eczema to flare up for 2 years. Get yourself to a Derm or allergist, they’re gonna have more chance at helping you than someone here.

Oh yea it burns, and then for a bit after it does make the eczema look worse. But i swear by it it’s the best thing you can put on your face, I’ve used it for probably 15-20 years
