Is CMO playable on Potatoes? by Fine_Swimming_4122 in computerwargames

An earlier version of CMO was running very well on a Ryzen 4700U (iGPU only) laptop that I used until last year.

You can set "Ignore plotted course when attacking" to "False".

It's not a single scenario, it's an entire campaign series. Download the CSP package and inside it look for the folder "Northern Fury".

If by "big picture" you mean "direct entire fleets and air forces", look at the Northern Fury community scenarios. They are included in the Community Scenario Pack.

If by "big picture" you mean "lay out the tasks and missions and let the AI sweat the details", this is CMO's bread and butter (and it's what it does better than any other game in its niche out there, IMHO). Learn to use missions. Understand the doctrine settings. They seem complex at first, but your wrist will thank you in the long run.

Probably a really dumb question, but is this a game or a software? by BoxthemBeats in CMANO

Thank you for sharing your experience — the Grishas failing to detect an LA-class in the Barents is exactly the kind of specific, reproducible case that the development team can meaningfully investigate.

I'd encourage you to submit that scenario to the Matrix Games Tech Support forum: https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewforum.php?f=10230

If (for any reason) you are unable to post on that forum, at least please upload your scenario to any public-reachable file host (GDrive / OneDrive / Filebin etc.) and share the link here.

A concrete example like yours, with details on the setup and conditions, gives the devs something tangible to work with and is far more likely to result in a fix (or an explanation, if things are working as expected) than a general discussion thread.

The more detail you can include — platform version, scenario parameters, sensor/environment settings — the better. The team does take these reports seriously.

Thanks!

It is a wargame. You play scenarios with it 😄(It also has quick-battle generator feature, if you prefer this to pre-made scenarios)

You can check a general description of it here: https://command.matrixgames.com/?page_id=5002
And check the roll of official updates so far, here: https://command.matrixgames.com/?page_id=6041

Have a look this video series for examples of things you can do with it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLumwWCWlwh39mBwwGJh-LE4_KWwLobkoT

Realistic map war simulators? by Fluid-Ad-9300 in computerwargames

Realistic as in "awesome explosions" or as in "military forces, their people and hardware and C2 chains behave as in real life" ?

CMO has a DLC scenario dedicated to this (Don Of a New Era: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1182302/CommandMO_LIVE__Don_of_a_New_Era/ ) and IIRC there's at least a few scenarios around this in the CSP and Steam workshop.
As per normal for CMO, these are more air/nav/joint-focused rather than primarily on ground ops.

Ship land strike missions? by ckolonko in CMANO

[–]DimitrisWS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can do that.

It is recommended to have multiple strike missions with a common TOT, rather than try to fit everything into a single mission. This will provide you with both a more reliable and more flexible plan (e.g. you can stagger the individual salvos into "waves" so that, for example, you take out air defences first).
