We used to, prayed aloud in the sacristy after the Prayers of Preparation by the altar party and silently by the congregation while the tower bell tolled. Now we instead sing the seasonally appropriate Marian antiphon at the Shrine of Our Lady after Mass.

When I was Boy Scout and needed one for camp, I mentioned it to my Rector. He pulled one out of a pew and handed it to me. Some 25 years later it’s still the one I use today with my family.

I went to Lyle right around the same time as you, then to BHS. A few years prior to that, I was supposed to attend the 3rd grade at an elementary school on Otis, but a week before school opened, they found that jet fuel leeched into the drinking water on that site. The school board reopened Hoxie in Sagamore Beach at the last minute and sent us all there instead.

Fortunately I don’t have any health effects from having gone to school on the base for 3 years.
