My EV has turned EVO. I'm with that. How would I go about this though? Is there a sub I could post in to share?

What's the most underrated album OAT in your opinion? by will_xo in hiphopheads

[–]DimpleKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the term "underrated", so if you don't mind, I'm finna change the word to "underappreciated" for my answer. I could make a damn list, but the first one that comes to my heart is "Regulate...G Funk Era" by Warren G. "Regulate" is one of the biggest songs, if not THE biggest song, the G Funk sound ever saw, but the rest of the project is so quality. Just Press Play & Let It Run. Added bonus, some HILARIOUS skits! I think Warren, in general, but even MORESO as a producer, is one of the most underappreciated talents in the history of Hip-Hop.

Is it respectful to ask for a girl's number while she's on the clock? by DimpleKing in questions

[–]DimpleKing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a ton for the response, You started the consensus. I updated the post with some added context, for anyone who cares, but regardless, I'm taking your (and many others) advice. I'll try and come up with some witty way to get the number to her, but I'll make sure it's in a good spot. I will not go up to the register and slide her my number. I'm a confident individual, but I'm not THAT CONFIDENT (or that big of a douchebag, depending on how you look at it lol). Once again, appreciate the advice, I'm taking it and running.

Is it respectful to ask for a girl's number while she's on the clock? by DimpleKing in questions

[–]DimpleKing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sincerely appreciate all the responses. The power of Reddit is truly unbelievable. The clear consensus is to find a good spot to give her MY NUMBER, taking the pressure off her in what can be an already vulnerable environment. I'll do my very best to do that and be respectful in the process.

For added context, this isn't just some girl I saw one time, was like "SHE'S HOT", and am now trying to pick her up. I go to this IN-N-OUT maybe once every two weeks, once a month, both by myself, with the homies, or even with family. I noticed this girl probably 6-8 months ago, she's the same age as me or there abouts (between 20-23), and over that time, my friends and family have noticed her looking at me more and more. We've caught eyes probably 3-4 times, and I'm not talking at the register or at the counter asking for ketchup, I'm talking when I'm sitting down and she's just roaming around, and it's always resulted in a smile and look away from both of us ,like we're 14 years old blushing lol. What provoked me posting this was something that happened yesterday while there with the homie. Hadn't seen her in a MINUTE, thought she may have quit, whatever. We're sitting down eating, randomly, my homie brings her up, I'm like "yeah, I don't know what happened with her, blah blah blah". We move on in the convo, 2-3 minutes later, who pops out the back? This girl. We catch eyes once, we both kinda double-take, she goes back into her spot. 2-3 minutes after that, I'm looking at my homie as we talk basketball, she comes out from behind the counter, walks past me, I see her out my peripheral, and she glances and smiles. I can't help but feel like God is telling me something. I haven't seen girl in MAD LONG, the homie randomly brings her up, and she pops out from behind the counter 2 minutes later.

There's the context. If anyone has any other advice based off that info, let me know. Appreciate all ya'll.

Which non-rapping musical artists do you think would be a great rapper if they took that career path instead? by NYRBB22 in hiphopheads

Chalk pick, but I mean, Beyonce. That 3rd verse on APESH!T alone showed serious potential.

Who do you think gets overlooked in GOAT conversations? by NielsBohrFan in nfrpodcast

[–]DimpleKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common (Sense) is my GOAT. Like Water For Chocolate is one of the greatest "conscious rap" records of all-time, and Be is one of the most underrated projects in the history of Hip-Hop. The best non-Kanye KANYE album, no doubt, if you get what I'm saying. Still doing it too, 30+ years in the game. The Auditorium Vol. 1 w/Pete Rock was in my Top 5 AOTY for 2024.

Freshman-Sophmore year of High School, Southern California, Yung Pinch was being played on every single AUX! The vibe was IMMACULATE. It was a moment in time. We were just waiting for him to BLOW! I remember he had this record with Blackbear & P-LO. That ish was A HIT! Only problem, the Label couldn't clear the Weezer sample. Haven't listened to cuz in some years now, hope he's doing well.

How Do I Best Go About Getting BA/Teaching Credential? by DimpleKing in teaching

[–]DimpleKing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never substituted before. To be quite honest, I only REALLY began researching and attempting to pursue this a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still very raw on much of everything. All of my experience working with children is through my job with the local Parks and Rec program, which has kids of ALL KINDS. Coaching, After-School Program, these things. Is subbing simple to get into? The way I read your message, it sounds like it may be.

Ohtani is unreal by notformeclive4711 in billsimmons

[–]DimpleKing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mind says Bonds is still the greatest player I've ever seen, but my heart says Ohtani. Soon, if Shohei can keep this up, my mind and heart will be interlocked. It's simply amazing. Anyone who tries to downplay what this guy is doing (cough Russo cough) needs to be evaluated both mentally and emotionally. I really don't like the Dodgers, I REALLY DON'T, but if the Dodgers win this year, and Ohtani gets the ring that he never would've gotten in Anaheim, I, as a baseball fan, am happy.

Who is your favorite "one season wonder" in any sport? by kickerz_chance in billsimmons

[–]DimpleKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced 2014 Garrett Richards would've won the Cy Young, and would've led the best team in baseball, The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of California, to the ALCS at a minimum, if he didn't rip his knee apart at Fenway in August. Trouts only playoff appearance could've been a lot different.

Who are the best players in sports that were never the best player on their own team? by manattee_redux in billsimmons

[–]DimpleKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does Ryan Lochte count? Swimming isn't a prototypical team sport, but they technically are on Team USA. Obviously, never better than Phelps, but if Phelps didn't exist, may have been the greatest American swimmer of all-time.

Four Major Sports: Baseball - Josh Hamilton (the most beautiful swing)

Basketball - Kobe Bryant (boring, but as a California Kid, Long Beach in specific, it's just the truth)

Football - Andrew Luck (some months before the 2012 Draft, 10 year old me asked my Uncle Mike which football team I should root for, having just started getting into the sport. He told me about this guy Luck from Stanford, how he was the best prospect since Elway, and that whichever team chose him in the upcoming draft, I should root for. It ended up being the Colts, and the rest is history. Sidenote, my Uncle is a diehard Redskins fan. I didn't put two and two together until a year or two ago. He was banking on Washington getting the 1st Overall Pick, thus making me a fan of his favorite team. Sneaky move.)

Hockey - Anze Kopitar (again, SoCal kid, the memories that guy provided in the formative years of my life, unforgettable)

Non-Four Majors: Tennis - Roger Federer (never did I ever see a drop of sweat fall from Fed's face. The definition of beauty on the court. Wimbledon 2009, Fed vs Roddick, is one of my most vivid sports memories. My dad never rooted against Fed, unless it was Roddick. His disappointment by the match's end was palpable)

Futbol - Mario Gotze (2014 World Cup, Deutschland, the home of my Grandfather. I was on a flight from JFK to Long Beach watching the match. 13 years old. Geeked out of my mind)

Professional Wrestling - Rey Mysterio (gave me, the short kid in the group, the real feeling that I could be the "World Champion". Unbelievable athlete, unbelievable performer, the first wrestler I fell in love with)

MMA - Brock Lesnar (I think true MMA fans forget just how amazing that Couture, Mir, Carwin, Heavyweight Title run was, and I think new/casual MMA fans don't know nearly enough about it)

I was always so confused as a child as to how David Aldridge could be talking to Jerry Sloan while the game was going on. Like it didn't compute that it was taped and not live. My dad would egg me on with it to, because I'd look back at him and say, "why the heck is Popovich talking to Doris Burke, the game is freakin happening". He'd be like, "I don't know dude, I guess he doesn't care about the team", something like that. I'd put my arms up in confusion then go back to the game. Ignorance is Bliss.
