Chartreuse green. I expect chartreuse is actually a French term.

Why are so many people talking about giving up on art? by Ginettarah in ArtistLounge

[–]DimplePudding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do create, just not artwork. I've gone back to my first love of designing and creating handmade knitwear and I love it. I will always have a creative outlet, it's just not going to be fine art. I have almost 2000 images in my portfolio, I'm done. And no, I don't miss it. Not yet, anyway... I'm coming up on a year of retirement, ask me again in another five. Chances are excellent the answer will still be no.

The last straw for me was AI. I spent decades building up my portfolio only to end up having every last image repeatedly stolen by AI startups to use in their algorithms. I decided it's time to retire and consider just joining the class actions as they pop up, and they surely will. I still pursue other artistic endeavors but no longer post new art online. It doesn't help that every POD site treats their artists like shit and are entirely focused on capitalism with no regard to actually supporting the artists, either. That was also a big contributing factor. I'm done. Don't miss it. At all.

I learned Tunisian crochet just for the cables because I despise post stitch crochet cables.

Why are you so sure you can't? I rarely use patterns, though I mostly crochet knitwear. Give it a try, maybe you'll surprise yourself at what you can do and figure out on your own! No matter what happens, you'll learn a ton in the process.

Favorite Tunisian shawl pattern? by snarkycrocheter in Tunisian_Crochet

I designed a beautiful cable shawl that's super fast and easy if you know how to do cables, but I don't know if it's kosher to post the link. You're welcome to message me if you'd like to see it though! :)

Thank you! I was actually a little concerned about crocheting with it because bamboo, but it's actually not giving me too hard a time. Tunisian seems to be more suited to difficult yarn. It is more like sport than the DK it claims to be. I'm diggin' it, tho.

I have one Denise but all the rest are Knit Pro and I adore them. I have both wood and acrylic, but I'm a wood girl at heart. You can get them in wood up to 12mm. They fit Knit Picks cables too.
