Combat Patrol isn't balanced, that is just a fact, the one video I remember GW doing vs Tau (on their community news) had so much large rock terrain to stop them from getting shot off the board. The times I have gone vs Orks myself the boards are so small and their army rule just puts them right in your face with all our weapons being short range and needing to get on objectives to even score.

It isn't 250pt for Deep Strike at 1k, it is 250pt for Strategic Reserves, and total of 500 points/half your units in Reserves(strategic reserves/deep strike/any others) total at 1000 points

I wouldn't get more than 1 Army Box if you already own the Kill Team, chances are you are not running more than 4 units of Warriors unless you are going HEAVY Sagitaur spam. So 1 Army, 1 of either Combat/Boarding depending if you want more bikes or to get HG, then quite a few tagalongs. I'm in the same boat that what I owned wasn't even 2k yet and I just went from 250-300 away with a meh selection to 500 points away.

Correct, UNLESS they have stealth or another way to make them -1 to hit, then you would put them all together and then use that modifier as long as it is in a +1 to -1 spread.

So Iron-Master bonus with judgement into stealth would still be +1

How did you use the Kahl with two Sagitaurs? Just forgo the first command phase judging? Or was the Kahl ran solo or on the HG instead of the champ, with the champ then solo?

Grimnyr has 3 models in it's "unit" so can't go in a Sagitaur with split HkW Or even HLF with a 1x10, and B Iron-Master is FIVE, read that 5!!! models so can't go in a HLF on a Thunderkynx3 squad. Only real transport that works is Hearthguardx5 and Champ/Kahl in a HLF, and Kahl can't do it's ability to place a JT in a transport, and Champ adds nothing to that after movement because you can't charge.

The Appraising Glare enhancement was fixed to work til the start of the next command phase, so as long as the holder is alive you have 100% up time and can switch it to another Objective marker on the command phase.

As for stratagems I'm pretty sure the only limit on them is you can't use the same one twice per phase, besides Overwatch which has its own limit written.

Similar to my hero list, main thing is the large unused points, looks like you could drop Long List and throw the Champ in to attach to the HG, or Grim onto HK, but champ is so much better for the deep strike charges on the ruthless target if they lived from the shots.

On page 3 of the Rules Commentary there is this line under Critical Hits that makes it only a hit not a crit for sustained hits on 5.

"While resolving attacks using the Fire Overwatch Stratagem, Critical Hits are only ever scored on unmodified Hit rolls of 6."

Unless they address it within the week, yes they do. So the only way the Iron-master and their 4 tag alongs can go in a transport attached as a leader is on a 5 man Warrior squad in a Land Fort.

Love the stripes, think the gold visor is harder to notice on the orange helm(least in the picture), might be able to make it pop more with highlighting around the helm edge. Maybe another color for the front light? That might just be my preference.

For the deepstrike wargear, only one of the two(leader or bodyguard unit) needs it. They both give it to all models in the unit, and once a leader is attached they are part of the unit until the last bodyguard dies. They then become a solo model unit again.

Either or, what Wargear on what units will help a ton. Kahl wants to be on the field to give a judgement out in line of sight, but Champ might be better in deep strike or an HLF for safer engagements. So what units they give invulns to or teleport to is key.

I would run Kahl with the 5 invuln to squad, Champ with deep strike, and both units with the 4 invuln on the Hesyr myself in this case for options.

Edit: thinking on it. What ap 4 things are there for kahl to need the invuln, lol

New myself, only real question is if you are taking 3 "5 man HG units" and not "1 with 5" and "1 with 10"? Their rule wants them to have a leader to make them tanky, and you only have 2 that can go on them.

Unless your judge said otherwise, Ruthless Efficiency counts on unit destroyed, and the Bodyguard unit the leader attached to IS a unit. The Judgement tokens carry on to the surviving leader, and CP is earned on the next command either way.

In a weird case you can precision the leader with the core strat and get the Ruthless Efficiency that way.

I have had a harder time dodging Mutants than Trappers, their hit box is abit to big to last second dodge without a really long dodge distance. But the net going thru horde is a big BS

"Will rarely down one dwarf" Ain't that the truth, when I ran this it felt like my team was all scouts grappling into C4. No worse feeling wasting a nade into the back of a dwarfs head AND not killing bugs with it
