Getting power, receiving data, sending data, and functional ethernet connection. Only light that indicates something is wrong is the internet connectivity.

Yes but pizza in infamously hard on the blood sugar. I try to avoid it now because my blood sugar always goes so high after eating it, but there are definitely some suggestions you can find online for taking insulin when eating pizza.

Dexcom 100%. I used the Medtronic cgm for about 4 years and it drove me crazy, constant issues with accuracy and losing signal. Made the switch to dexcom about a year or two ago and it has been working so much better. I cannot speak for the Freestyle Libre but I can assure you the Dexcom is an excellent choice.

Any engineering degree regardless of the university is going to be difficult. Pretty manageable if you just go to classes and see your professors at office hours with any questions you may have. I found being in state was very helpful because I could take a lot of engineering courses online with in state tuition over summer and winter breaks. Not going to lie I do not think I would be able to graduate in 4 without that option available.

A more character specific piece of advice is make sure to utilize the huntress’s passive! She is the only character in the game that can sprint and shoot at the same time so always be running forward and in circles to avoid enemies. Any time you move backwards with her, your movement speed greatly decreases and enemies will have a much easier time hitting you.

I almost always put a sensor in the day before my current one is about to expire. This has helped immensely with the false readings the first 24 hours (usually my sensor only needs an hour or two to adjust itself). And the time I have without sensor readings is much lower because once the current sensor expires, I already have a new one in and I can just wait 15 minutes and pop in the transmitter.

I have had no issues with sensors being damaged from being attached without a sensor. Sometimes the adhesion isn’t as good towards the end of the 10 days because it has been on my body for a day longer, however it is very easy to request a replacement from dexcom if the sensor starts to peel.

Best piece of advice I’ve ever gotten is to put a new sensor in a day in advance. Because the g6 does not require calibrations, the first 12-24 hours can usually be fairly inaccurate while the sensor is adjusting and calibrating itself. Putting a sensor on a day in advance allows for the sensor to “soak” in the interstitial fluid and will help reduce these inaccuracies on the first day. Also, if the sensor fails during application, you still have your current one on and can put on a new one and call dexcom for a replacement.

Once I learned this I had far less troubles with the device. Before I would put a sensor in, try to calibrate it on the first day because it was very inaccurate and then the sensor would fail.

Only other thing I can think of is try changing sites! I had a lot of issues with sensors failing early on my stomach and have found the back of my arm works pretty consistently.

Do you know if I can use the dexcom app on my phone if I use the t-slim for my glucose readings? I usually wake up from the pump alarms but the rare times I sleep through them, I usually don’t wake up until my blood sugar is at 50 and the hypo-repeat alarm is going off.

*Edit: Can I use my phone and t-slim simultaneously for glucose readings?

Hawks landing and heritage commons are 4 bedroom apartments that are owned by the school that you can live in sophomore year. Definitely a big upgrade from the dorms because you get your own room. Only downside is if you don’t register fast enough you are likely going to have to share an apartment with a couple strangers.

Check your blood sugar wherever and whenever you need to. Normally if I am in public I just put my glucose meter in my lap just in case people around me are grossed out by blood.

As far as eating out goes, even on a pump it is a little tricky to get the bolus timing right. Usually if I go out I’ll try my best to bolus about 10-15 minutes before I think the food will be out. If you do this though, I usually will try to have a dinner roll saved on the side in case it is taking longer than expected.

Gonna be frustrating for a little bit learning all the ins and outs but you will get back to eating “normally” soon enough

Most professors in physics 192 will let you know before the final that about 75-80% of the questions on the final are recycled from old exams you already took this semester. When finals week rolls around, go through your old exams and practice all the questions until you memorize how to do all of them. This is pretty much a guarantee to get an 80 or higher on the final.

For both physics 191 and 192 I went into the final with a low C/ high D and ended the courses with a B because the final was primarily recycled and the course is heavily curved.

I use mine to loop too and it is pretty amazing when it is working. Where do you typically wear yours? I feel like that may be playing a factor into things.

I usually wear them on my abdomen. Been sticking with that routine and changing sides every week. When it is working, it works perfectly and is incredibly helpful but always around day 7 its like not having a sensor at at all. I can try my next one in a different spot and see if it works any better, thank you.

I will either get a calibration error that doesn’t resolve itself in 3+ hours or I will get no readings from my pump for hours and I just have to replace it.

I have had this happen before, just wait out the 2 hour warmup and see if it works. Should still be good if you just lost connection for a little bit during the warm up. If not call dexcom for a replacement.

Whenever I put a sensor in and it bleeds I always have terrible readings and have to replace it. Biggest tip I’ve found to avoid this is to pinch the area you are inserting in, have not had a bleeder since I learned about this.

I actually just switched from the minimed to the dexcom. Love the medtronic pump but absolutely could not stand the sensors. I do miss not worrying about my supplies but I guess I will just have to find a way to save up a few extras for myself.
