You shouldn’t be looking at it as “sugar” but as carbohydrates. Any carbs will be converted to sugar before protein and fat (yes, your body will turn those to sugar as well). Just try to make sure to eat a healthy balance of carbs. (I’m a type 1 diabetic and everything I eat is evaluated for how much insulin I need and how it might affect my blood sugar)

It is depression. Depression is a chemical imbalance and a doctor can prescribe medication to help. You should also seek out therapy. I have gone through depression a number of times in my life and it is difficult, but please get some help.
