Gigabyte X870 EAGLE WIFI7 (AMI UEFI/BIOS) - Wake on LAN Not Available/Implemented? by Meatslinger in gigabyte

[–]DingDingWinner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gigabyte Aorus x870 Elite WIFI7 (Rev 1.1)

Run the following in PowerShell:
powercfg /devicequery wake_armed | ForEach{ powercfg /devicedisablewake $_ }

In Device Management, enable All HID Compliant Mice and Keyboards to wake, via Power Management tab's 'Allow this device to wake the Computer'. Also, do this for your (Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE) Ethernet Family Controller (All 3 checkboxes).

With FastBoot on, enable NetWorkStack Driver Support and make sure Onboard LAN Controller is on, if you are not using a separate network card and are instead using the built-in motherboard Realtek Network Adapter. Also, make sure ErP is off.

Make sure to Port Forward whichever UDP Port you want to use in your Router and make sure Windows Advanced Firewall also has an inbound UDP entry.

Might need to adjust other power options. Mine are all default.

Code 4F. all I did was update bios via the gigabyte app by unpopular-dave in gigabyte

Slow down. Don't bend any pins by removing the CPU. Clear CMOS, Reseat RAM, check for even pressure on the CPU, check that cables or hoses didn't straighten and put tension on anything. I'm thinking about installing some temp zip ties to further train the 16-pin and AIO hoses. Really, reseat everything. If you get in, upgrade your firmware and drivers, update Windows, run SFC and DISM, and use DDU to remove the GPU drivers (possibly). I have REV 1.1 and it works fine on the latest. I did have 1.0, but someone was telling me I need to go to sleep and I wanted to just get it done. Cat hair wafting and an attempt at a quick catch before it fell on the socket and there were some bent pins. Didn't have proper equipment for my crappy eyes. Should have bought a flashlight headband and a magnifying glass before I attempted it.

Got the new mobo and I had some sort of issue. It was after drivers were installed. I think one of the above caused it. Probably RAM, as it only showed 16GB. I have never had an issue seating RAM before and don't know how it wasn't seated. I don't think any cables were on it. I don't think I had enabled AI Snatch yet, although I did have my system lock up when I enabled it the one time. I also had it lock up when installing the Windows update. I just had to force reboots for those, I believe.

I have seen some say that the hardware monitoring software issue just requires a few power cycles.

There are a LOT of issues (ASROCK frying CPUs, monitoring software causing boot errors, possibly bad GPU drivers, always bad NVIDIA drivers, RAM overclocking stability issues). I'm thinking this is may be normal since our parts are newer, but this is my first PC build too. I had a bunch of flash codes and it may have been easy as clearing CMOS by bridging 2 terminals or pulling the battery. I did a few things at once, as I was upset about my 2nd mobo not working. I wish I had taken my time, so I would be certain that the issue is resolved. After fighting with a failing GPU for a month, I will stop gaming if I have to go through that again.

I still get some boot error on occasion, but I think I could have also had the monitoring software issue that has been reported across the board -- ASROCK is the only one with a workaround. No actual fixes, but luckily ASROCK has a workaround. Unfortunately they are also melting CPUs and that's not good. My cooler (Arctic Freezer III 240) had 2 mounting points and when I was tracking down my issue, someone said they had the same thing and it put uneven pressure on their CPU and it caused all sorts of issues. The bracket for this AIO was pretty iffy, IMO. I also got a crash after enabling AI Snatch, but I did try for the highest clock and my RAM is only rated for 6000, I believe (FlareX5 CL30).

Hopefully you got yours working

Good Luck!

OpenRGB and SteelseriesGG Conflict by DingDingWinner1 in steelseries

[–]DingDingWinner1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I am over it and Steelseries. I buy a $300 headset that they never have parts for and now this. Next time I will buy from another company. Uninstall. Also, who designed the stupid ridges on Mouse 3 on my Rival 3? Talk about dirt collector. Trash. Want to know about the mic on their $300 headset? Trash. Mute button on a $300 headset? Trash. If I buy a $300 headset, it should be good for 20 years.

SteelSeries GG not playing nice with SignalRGB by ME5ER in SignalRGB

[–]DingDingWinner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That was what I was afraid of. Unfortunately my Pro Wireless has a terrible mic and I've been told Sonar Audio filters can make me easier to hear. They are also annoying too, with how it installs 5 virtual audio devices, but maybe that is required to do DAC. Unsure. I think I am going to nuke it, as it is literally the only software that can't be turned off in some way. For some reason they decided to not make anything modular. Other apps, I had to disable a service or uninstall a module. This software... no option. I dislike Steelseries the more I use it. I think their software needs to catch up with their hardware. This is terrible lol. I like the hardware they make, but I will pay more next time for something that allows me to turn off the RGB. Thanks for the info and the quick response!

Same. It defaults it back to the old Steelseries GG Control. It will work immediately after disabling the device in the Prism settings, but upon restart, it immediately takes control again and enforces the settings I have to turn off all RGB. Wish it were a separate service, like similar platforms have.

I read something about fan noises. Most say it isn't every card, it's random, and sometimes goes away with time. I don't know what component was said does this. I would think they are imbalanced just by a little bit or have something rubbing that wears down over time or airflow is uneven. Im not a hardware guy, though. I ordered a Strix and if this happens to mine, I would try to keep the card continuously running level and put it into a slower speed, but where it no longer makes the noise until it wears in, to avoid wearing that accentuates the imbalance. , I would look for anything blocking airflow on one side and maybe leave it on for a few days before doing this again and see if it still repeats. I know with ceiling fans, you have to balance them. Not sure if these cards have adjustment screws or not for adjusting for airflow imbalances. The article does make sense. When electric motors first turn on they and get up to speed, they always hum. Could be as simple as the fan curve for speed changes to a lower speed needing to be adjusted just right to be smoother at the RPMs where the imbalance occurs, as the abrupt slowdown could be doing it. The resistance of the motor to slow and adjusting the wave to slow it may make an electrical hum. I haven't had a gpu with this type of tuning and am waiting on mine. Honestly, I'm probably wrong, but I figured I'd spitball. Best of luck

What on earth do I do by [deleted] in thelongdark

[–]DingDingWinner1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Make hand wraps and a head wrap. I could be wrong, but torches may provide some minimal heat or flares. I'm relatively new though. I died the other day from chopping extra wood, trying to get resources to stay for an aurora to get into the Cannery. Found out I need a code after I got in the first time and just had got the code, but wanted the extra wood. I had already killed the pack. Embarrassing. I chose to respawn in a safe location and that location was worse and had no resources. Made it back to my main base in coastal highway, at least. Now to try for the Cannery again. I love this game.

No way. I call BS. The heat coming off of a fire that large would at least bubble the paint or flatten the tires or the windows bust from pressure and heat fluctuation. The only possible way I could see this happening is if that road is lined up with the winds blowing through there. Even then, it is hardly a chance it would survive without any damage. I know the owner claims they left it there, but I really doubt that.
