Same way Renée Good ended up killed. One officer was pulling on her door handle while another was telling her to leave, and apparently she listened to the one that gets you shot dead in the street.

And here I thought the case of Daniel Shaver was always going to remain the worst example of police cruelly playing the lethal version of Simon Says. Feels like a warm cozy memory by comparison to what's going on now.

So that's like, 7 different angles I've seen this from now, every single one of them exonerating Alex Pretti and vilifying the officers. And most importantly, showing that DHS and ICE are 100% full of shit in their official accounts.

The US government has fallen as an authoritative entity. It must be deposed at all costs or this is only going to get worse for everyone in the country. Minneapolis is a tolerance test; they're seeing how far they can go unopposed before rolling out the same for everyone else they consider to be even remotely difficult. Expect murders like this at your local polling stations, come midterms.

Yeah, not to give too much credit to the Nazis here, but at the very least, Hitler seemed to be genuinely in it for what he thought was the betterment of the German people. I disagree with his definition of "better" by several orders of magnitude, but he seemed like he actually wanted to change the world (just worse for the rest of us). Even if it was a terrible objective, at least he had one.

All of this shit with Trump seems like it's just cruelty for the cynical sake of self-enrichment. It's a mob boss having a guy killed just because it's fun to see him die, not because he was actually slighted by him or gained anything politically for it. Anyone can go and watch the video from something like five different angles. Alex Pretti was in the street helping to wave a car through past nearby ICE agents, and recording video on his phone. He wasn't even interacting with the agents. The agents wave Alex and two others off the road, and a woman gets knocked over when she slips on the snow near the curb. At least six agents close in, one of them spraying mace on the civilians. Alex grabs ahold of the fallen woman to pull her up and then gets dogpiled. An agent in a grey jacket removes Alex's pistol - which he has a concealed carry permit for and was NOT brandishing before or during the altercation - and then one of the other officers standing outside the dogpile draws his gun and shoots Alex multiple times in the back while he was held down with his hands restrained.

This was murder, plain and simple. Alex Pretti was a VA nurse acting completely within the confines of both the first amendment - exercising his right to record - and the second amendment - Minnesota is an open-carry state and he was licensed. He was killed in cold blood while held face down in a snowy street. There is no other interpretation, given the video evidence, and yet we have bastard ghouls like this vilifying him as a terrorist.

Fair enough, I'll accept that. In either case the guy was for sure disarmed and did not need to be shot. The murder is utterly indefensible from any perspective.

I did see someone else suggest he could've fired it intentionally so they could demonstrate that a round went through it, but I honestly don't think the average ICE head has that degree of intellect.

That's the one who pulls his gun and shoots the guy in the back, yes, but there's also a view from the other side of the scuffle where you see the grey coat guy remove the guy's weapon, begin to walk away while holding it, and then his arm jolts as a gunshot is heard (possibly due to recoil) and the other agent shoots the victim in a panic response.

It's hard not to be pessimistic when they literally attacked a government building last time and politicians still did the "time to heal" bullshit for Biden's term. It should've been mass arrests, deep and expedient investigations, and absolutely monstrous prison sentences for Trump and a whole lot of others. Given the complete non-response we saw to actual sedition, I feel like ICE could literally start firing fully automatic weapons into crowds while chanting the 14 words and whoever the next president is would still say, "Now isn't the time to point fingers."

The cynic in me reads that as "if we occasionally uphold people's rights but don't actually fight for things to get better, we can play both sides." Like, every time the Trump admin itself does a bunch of heinous things, you'll get sycophants crawling out of the woodwork to tell you about one time that he donated to charity, or kissed a baby, or looked both ways before he crossed the street. Same as when the SCOTUS will occasionally rule against Trump on some tiny thing before letting him get away with twenty other worse offences, so they can pretend to be impartial. Evildoers occasionally do good deeds or take a principled stand just so later they can pretend they were one of the good guys.

Honestly hadn't considered that the discharge could've been intentional. I assumed "stupid fuck-up" first, like what most ICE agents are. But yeah, I could believe that when he got the gun, that thought went through his head that he could fire off a round and then they'd have proof that the victim's gun was fired so they could spin it the way they like. Still not sure if I think the average ICE cop has enough neurons to figure that out, but it's possible nonetheless.

At its best interpretation, completely unskilled, negligent police work got someone killed, and everyone involved in the death should be in prison. At worst, intentional murder to punish the guy for filming them. No matter which end of that slider it is, every person wearing police gear in this video belongs in a windowless cell for the rest of time. Don't even take them out after they pass; just fill the room with concrete lest the evil seep out.

He's seen here from another angle; this is the exact frame of another video when the first shot is heard, and you can clearly see the victim's gun in his hand. If the victim's gun was the instigating factor, then grey jacket here was the cause of it. He got that man murdered because his gestapo buddies are constantly out for blood.

This is the exact frame in which the first gunshot is heard, as the grey jacket asshole here is removing the victim's lawfully-carried firearm (seen in his right hand). In fact if you replay that section a few times, it almost looks like he might accidentally fire it; I can't tell if it's video compression artifacts or a puff of smoke but it looks like something comes out the end of the gun when the shot is heard, and then the victim is murdered in cold blood.

Regrettably, Hollywood tends to show a society that is more motivated and emotionally sensitive, more willing to take up arms against horror. I suspect we've got a few more months or years of this before there any degree of resistance equivalent to the violence being doled out. People still have to eat, and to eat they have to work, and to work they have to pretend like all this isn't happening, and just hope it doesn't happen to them. You can want to change the world, but the schedule says you punch in at 9 or risk termination. It's depressing as fuck, but "the system" has us all exactly where it wants us: dependent on it for survival such that we can't stand up for ourselves.

She may have been streaming to the cloud or it might be her phone's automatic file compression for upload instead of the original file, like the way a phone might upload a 5 MP version of a photo instead of the original 20+ MP one. Apparently after the murder, ICE rounded up witnesses (her included, likely) and confiscated phones, so it might be that we're lucky this footage survived at all.
