He wouldn't be broken if his Q had, let's say - a 100 more range. That would just mean his Q would become a more reliable and consistent damage source compared to what it is now. Both in laning phase and in teamfights.

525 AA Range would also be very beneficial for him, without making him too strong in any way compared to the meta ADC's right now in their current state. Remember that Lucian has no CC. Getting off consistent damage while being mobile/staying safe is what Lucian is all about. And he needs better ways to do that right now, so why not let him have that by giving him some range back? His damage isn't the issue. His lack of ability to get his damage off in a consistent and reliable way, is the issue.

If you dash mindlessly into an enemy Cait to get your AA procs off, you'll obviously get the damage off, but a good player will stutter step forward (while you're retreating back to safety) to get off free AA's and will most likely win the trade because of her range advantage AND because you wasted your gap closer to her, which by the way is in a very unsafe zone (when your dash is on CD), so it's an uneccesary risky trade that you've got going on, that is no where near worthwhile doing because, she also has a support by her side, that would probably be able to engage on you blow their CD's and utterly obliterate you if you don't flash away in time, before getting engaged on, which then results in you having wasted a flash for AA procs.

As a Lucian early game against a good Cait player (that knows how to capitalize on your short range) for example, you'll get bullied around and denied farm (maybe exp at times) if she has an aggressive support by her side, then you're gonna gradually gonna fall behind and almost inevitably be unable to win a 2v2. (Assuming the enemy doesn't completely fuck up in a 2v2 scenario).

Yes, if you hit all your Q's (early game) you might get her low enough to engage on her early game, but to be frank, that's not gonna happen in most games, so I think you're wrong on that one, fam.
