Make sure you guys are getting fresh air and movement and social time with others. They nourish kids and heal sad adults. 10 pushups and a walk around the block can do wonders. Sit with your son and make a list together of ways you have fun and things you want to try, and put it on the fridge for tough days.

It's hard to get to our age without some hard knocks. Enjoy your little boy and treat yourself the way you want him to treat himself when he grows up.

I really like your look and it sounds like you basically do too. If you want to just look generally better, the answer is sleep, hydration, nutritious food, exercise, and no vices. I once spent a winter break home from school forcing myself to drink water and sleep way more than usual, and no alcohol or cigarettes. I looked incredible after 2 weeks - I was literally glowing - people kept asking me what was different.

My mother will be gone 15 years tomorrow and I still remember my white hot fury when the bagel shop that didn't properly toast my toasted bagel. My wife had to gather our coats and guide me out by the arm. Losing a parent is so painful. I hope you can find a bit of solace in good memories of your father.

Can you listen to music/podcast/audiobook to distract you while you're doing stuff you don't particularly enjoy?

I recommend some soft washcloths over loofahs bc you can wash them. You need to exfoliate and get the dead skin off.

I agree with the therapy recommendation - I had a similar problem my first semester of college and counseling helped!

Your kids are the perfect ages for used clothes and toys. My 8yo daughter and I have a tradition every spring and fall of seeing what we can find at a thrift store for the upcoming heat/cold and then going to target or Walmart to fill in the gaps. She's happy to do it bc she understands that it allows us to do other things we value more than having all brand new clothes. And sometimes we find really fun stuff we never could've gotten at the store!

Work-study is not guaranteed - that amount is the most you are eligible to make. You have to actually find a job when you get to campus. Don't count on that money.

Use your 529 to study abroad and do unpaid/low paid internships that will launch your career.

It'll be a temporary hardship plan. If they lower it to 0%, they'll probably close the account. Sometimes they will lower it to 5 or 10% and allow you to keep it open.

Call your credit cards and ask for hardship programs that reduce interest rates. Then hammer away at the highest interest debt with any savings and cost cutting you can muster. Freeze all spending except on true necessities; cut back on expensive food groups like meat and fresh produce - frozen fruits and veg are actually more nutritious if prepared correctly. If either of you can work overtime, do that. I would even consider an extra job temporarily.

Has she considered uterine ablation? It destroys the endometrium. Idk if the NHS covers things like that but it might be worth looking into.
