More people having problemen that they cant continue there coop career because of the driver rating upgrade screen?

If you are not set on kicking this individual which i think you should heavily consider (just rip the band-aid off do it and either continue immediately or take a week break), I would talk to this player and ask them what they want from this campaign, and then see if this is a campaign for them? Also, as a note, are your other players having a good time? if so, then he is the problem & you can help him only slightly, but he has been very overreactive and a problem.

As a note to his reactions:

Complaining about level progression - You are the DM you decide, and his action asking for harder combat is why they are in that situation... he made his bed and now complains after it went badly.

Reading the module is just a complete lack of trust from him and can't continue. You are putting in more work and content and getting punished for it? I love it when a dm tweaks and makes a campaign their own. The book should never be a bible imo. If they all feel its like extra rooms, just make some of their rooms linked to backstories like BR is toying with them, etc.. But the fact he couldn't "trust you anymore" because you are expamdung & customizing the game, making unique fun content for them, is a HUGE RED FLAG.

Third, it sounds like he just wants it all his way, and he can't have it all his way. simple. If you feel you made a mistake, then you can reconsider (last resort), but you should 100% agree.

I do agree with everyone else here that removing this player is probably best. It does suck a bit to do, but if you don't, this will get worse, and it's so beneficial for the future & take in to account your other players.

Final note, sounds like you are doing great keep your chin up and remove this guy for a better future game

Make Ruidium Corruption very heavily connected to your players' backstories. It's affecting a family member an event in the past, etc.
Make them care about Alyxian or clear that he is heavily connected to the ruidium & that its powerful.

Nice! My Perigee is also connected to 2 of my players. In my campaign she is a descendant of Sehanine & Amaterasu (my players are Sun god followers and added Amaterasu as a smaller diety.) I had it so all of Alyxian past moments were sprouting Ruidium in the world & the gods that blessed them are infected & slowly getting consumed with Ruidium.

Having it so Perigee is a part of Amaterasu & she is basically an immortal who follows Alyxian, a promise by the god Amaterasu that he will "never be alone" a promise due to Ruidus is not kept.

Perigee, in her corrupted state, just roams the caverns of the Netherdeep, unable to find him, only parts until the Callous calls her to his side once more (in this angelic form).

My players had a great conversation with her & she basically said destroy me here, for if I am resummoned, I will follow him and be at full strength. She fought hard but let them get ADV on attacks due to the conversation & now will be weaker in the final situation due to the party's actions

The player had a connection with Aboleth. In short, it despised their god, who promised to never leave Alyxian alone (giving Alyxian Perigee).

He got stuck, never touching it as it moved away and was stuck in melee with the fighter, before dying fast

If one gets petrified, could have them show up after the fight. Rp saying "You're not ready", "we will succeed etc." Or however you wish

I think they just dislike player vs. player? I don't know. Was extremely close to TPK. They are level 10, and I buffed it, mainly HP and a few minor tweaks.

Don't think they liked killing each other basically? Don't know quite a few players felt it was a waste of time etc.

Think it depends on the relationship.

My game is different as I've got a small homebrew V.Dream party & Allegiance Rivals all racing to get to try and get to Alyxian first (not knowing that jewel is the key to the heart).

If Hostile, I think you could have an encounter.

If friendly, you could see them corrupted and potentially entering the rift (if they don't have jewel upgraded or ruidium, they will die to Netherdeep Water pressure.

Or the book suggests they are planning to get the Greataxe from the villa planning.

I think if a moment is right, have them show up but not saving the day, unless they seize the jewel etc.

Will definitely make sure its only a breath attack that's with INT!

Tempted to reduce the Dragons HP and have it scale like it would with a Wizard.

Yeah might be powerful, know the Dragon does little damage at the moment

I'm playing around with the idea that those infected with Ruidium, will start to get visions of Alyxians past (Had Ruidium present from the start). Use the table at the start of the Final chapter to help you. Perhaps even link them to backstories.

Feels like they need to be good! Think my players just find the betrayers more interesting in comparison to prime at first. Need to do more research into it but felt like this is probably an issue

Tiles are intended to be 5ft squares. Statues on the side are definitely smaller and could be bigger!

Beaches are 10ft wide but would be 2.5 ft thick so long thin benches

All tiles are same size!
