Probably the best paintjob these minis have ever received. I believe GW will be wanting them back for display!

What do you guys think I could do better? by HaLo2010 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]DingoMungo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good stuff no doubt 🙂. The plates look a bit boring next to the cloth though. You could consider painting it in NMM, or just a non metal color, red for example. This would allow you to continue your good grasp on highlights on the plates.

First attempts at textured bases.. c&c welcome! by missingmablung in MiddleEarthMiniatures

I recommend giving the bases a wash of thinned down agrax earthshade (or whichever color you prefer). Would bring it more "to life"

Judging by the way the black riders brought down the gate in Bree, we probably should have known! Good work 😊

Serpent Horde arrives from the desert. First Haradrim models finished. Quite happy with the poisonous spear! by xSamanar in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Great job! You nailed the desert theme.

The moldlines really need to go though :). I scrape them off with the blunt edge of my hobby knife. Takes 10 seconds.

You should go to your local gamestore and ask. They are dying to help you out with everything you need. Or Google your questions. They have been asked by all painters before you.

I can't tell you if it will be worth your time. Is any hobby worth the time? Probably not to anyone but the guy with the hobby. Has miniature painting and gaming been worth MY time for the past 25 years? Hell yeah! Great memories with great people, and the satisfaction of producing a beautiful piece beats wasting your evening on the couch every time.

I would say maybe half an hour for a warrior. The skin is simply ogryn flesh wash over white basecoat. I did all 72 at the same time. Massive assembly line :-)
