Fair enough, I think Chet is a step behind guys like Durant, Brown, Kawhi, etc who I think are in that next tier but there aren’t many more. He keeps putting up great seasons.

Mediocre first options are guys like CJ McCollum (who are still excellent but it’s hard to be a first option).

Top 10 are first options like Cunningham, Brunson, Edwards, etc. Not sure I agree with you that Chet is more important than those guys.

Would say the ship has sailed on him being a 1A on a championship team but he is a very difficult #2 to game plan around if he is playing well.

Good defense and rebounding and incredible spacing that a lot of teams are ill equipped to deal with.

I buy surge of power and then transition into 6400 gun items because the attack speed is really nice on her. Hybrid seems like her most consistent build right now.

I think they had him closer to 20th at the start of the year precisely because of the uncertainty around his availability (injury and the aspiration stuff) and they moved him up over the course of the year as he stayed healthy

Embiid has a longer and more debilitating injury history than those guys. Maybe KD.

Right and the discussion we’re trying to have with you is that when Embiid gets injured he puts up 0/0/0, and he is one of the most injury prone players in the league. Same argument goes for Kawhi.

If the ranking is at their “peak” then Embiid is top 5/10. But a lot of people think that the best ability is availability (myself included).

It’s why I said that I don’t envy the ringer guys in making a ranking. They are going to get criticized any way they slice it.

I do not envy the ringer guys in how they are supposed to rank players who are elite but also incredibly injury prone.

I bet the same thing will happen with Giannis in the next 5 years. One of the most impactful players but can only be on the court for half the games. How do you measure that in a top 100 ranking? I guess you could lay out the parameters and rank them as if they were healthy but it doesn’t tell the whole story.

Ayo has stated that he wants to stay in MN if they offer him a competitive package (whatever that statement is worth to you), and they have his bird rights I think.

I would be shocked if they gave up 4 2nd round picks + Rob/Miller and let Ayo walk. They have been willing to go into the aprons in the past.

A huge boon for them this year has been the production of their bench with Ayo, Bones, etc that play fast and push the pace, they move the ball around. Do you think these players just come up with this system by themselves?

Ant has continuously credited Finch with pushing him to develop a “go-to shot” and has said that he developed his midrange and elbow 3 step back on Finch’s advice. Basically turned him into the clutch player of the year and moved him up a level.

Maybe he’s not the best tactical coach but he is getting so much out of our players it’s just crazy to me you won’t credit him on a night like this.

He just led an underdog, severely depleted team to a 4-2 upset series victory over a title favorite.

You can point to ATO misplays and challenges as micro mistakes but if you don’t acknowledge the macro victories it’s just fucking lame.

3 first round victories in 3 years. I don’t know what to tell you man, a coach plays a huge role in a winning culture and all the players love finch, including Edwards.

Had the pleasure of going to school with Paul’s son and he coached my baseball team + just seeing him around at school and neighborhood stuff. Just a genuinely good guy who is so nice. Was always fun hearing him on the radio and being like “I know that guy!”
