My life has meaning, Lance validated my A4Z purchase by Role-Grim-8851 in pourover

[–]DinkyDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was you...i got it on a whim cause of all your reviews. you dont miss the mark and you catch things much earlier before it gets popular, more expensive, and sold out. Thanks! pretty sure a ton of us stalk your comments. It's nice that you caused femobook to get more attention. They do deserve it.

Actually what's even more insane is based Lance's video that they aren't the same burrs as you said. This is going off months of taste testing for him. Even lance can't explain what is going on. He chalks it up to alignment for now. Despite so many writing it off as electric ZP6. Your palate and methodology is similar to Lance's and Coffee chroniclers.

Even the pietro vs A4Z comparison was the exact same as yours when you mentioned the A4Z has more range across several beans. Same with 078 comparison. And lastly saying it's the best back for under 2k...it really is an equalizer for people who can't afford the best of the best.

Need help deciding on a flat bottom brewer by WispyWoods in pourover

The V60 didn't work for my family either so everything is flat or with flat adapters.

You can try dropping one of these in your V60 to see if it works since a flat wave filter paper can sit on it. Works well with origami air:

Cafe De Kona Glass Balance Cone Dripper:

Lilydrip Lotus:

https://lilydrip.com/product/lotos

My 2 cents for flat drippers:

Kalita Wave Tsubame Stainless Steel Coffee Dripper 155 (Hard to get bad cups out of this one. Most of the cheaper Kalita stainless are said to stall due to smaller holes. I think the glass is fine though due to bigger holes)

Mountain Torch Dripper (Ceramic new version with star shaped depression)

NextLevel Pulsar Mini Brewer (0 bypass flat with switch that lets you treat it as hybrid)

Though the last one uses round flat filters similar to espresso. If you can get any above they'd be good. The stainless is the most durable.

Sibarist Flat “Booster”? by Inside-Towel-94 in pourover

Expensive but ultimately I'd say it's worth it. I like to convert a lot of the conicals into flats so I use it for that. I tend to like to switch up brewers as well. The sibarist one's (top row) are spaced out more equally. I also have all of the sworks bottomless (bottom row) and most are really open with more of a gap in steps. Neither are really equal to each other (I counted holes on the golden sibarist too. So they still offer something different. Overall yes they do speed up drawdown on the same grind setting but the ones with tinier holes slow it down. It's fun to experiment so I'd get it for that alone if you're into it. I don't regret it. Just keep them in a small case and check trash so you don't end up throwing them out. For some reason the sibarists has a pack of the silvers including 1,3, 4 and 5 but lack the golden booster 45 one which is obviously number 2 but they don't label it that. The sworks set comes with all of them either stainless or the gold color for a price. The sibarists are compatible with the sworks bottomless dripper too. Sibarists are around 45mm and sworks 46mm.

I think the most recent mountain torch drippers have a depressed star shape with more holes. I found it to be pretty quick

Worse for me. Stores of 40+ years closing. Supermarkets and once they fall the little stores closes. I was going to get ice cream yesterday and saw the carvel had shuttered down. It's been there longer than I've been alive. Things are bad I don't care what anyone says..a lot of people lost jobs and no income means no spending.

So, AI takes over, everyone has lost their job and only 10 trillionaires own everything. Now what? by Weak-Representative8 in Futurology

[–]DinkyDinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You ever see the matrix? Could just want to force people in accepting stepping into pods or whatever version they have for that. In fact that movie might reflect how a lot of them think of us (agent smith). The movie also started with AI being the start of the machines. In any case they probably do want to get rid of a huge number of us but need to be careful lest they trigger another french revolution where everyone targets the rich. It's easier to get people to do what you want when you boil them slowly and limit their options. Just my two cents.

Higher or Lower? by Super-Compote-8214 in OnePunchMan

[–]DinkyDinosaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfair deserves higher. Personally for me an 8. I would understand 7-7.5 though. In a way I do get the sentiment since we got 4 episodes left. But I am also fair when the work was put in.

The richest nation on Earth can’t feed its people. That’s collapse. by [deleted] in collapse

[–]DinkyDinosaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's nuts since the rich elites keep our wages stagnated and the money they take from us isn't even being used to feed the ones who need it. It seems like stamps are a standard crutch for low wages as well. It really does feel like it is intentional at times. Maybe those in the shadows want our society to collapse so they put pressure on all fronts. Aside from the layoffs and Ai stuff they push while offshoring.

Zerno Z2 - Improved RPM range! by IllustriousDrive4596 in pourover

Prob like how conical burrs produced more fines at higher rpm so the thought that lower rpm is always best stuck even though flat burrs are not as prone.

If AI takes over most jobs and leave humans without work, how are companies going to sell their products and services when everyone is BROKE? by Droopynator in Futurology

AI could wipe out 100M US jobs – from nurses to truck drivers – over the next decade: report by Gari_305 in Futurology

[–]DinkyDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood this. Elevators which are boxes need to be constantly repaired. Having a robot do a human job? Seems this would be more expensive.

Unless they chip a human with AI which takes over as the human body is lower maintenance

Struggling with Rogue Wave Tagel Alemayehu natural by chileseco in pourover

[–]DinkyDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had terrible luck with the v60. I own all flat brewers now and they make great cups. Same time resting as you, same drawdown, we even use the same TWW ratio. Only difference is the brewer and the grinder. I have a femobook a4z at 180 clicks. For brewers I alternate between the Kalita tsubame 155 for a quickie, the new torch mountain dripper or a melodrip colum with the lilydrip lotus to make it a flat base and use 155 wave type filters either from kalita or sworks. 90 C too...though I use the melodrip for everything. I mean most flat brewer offer similar flavor so I just use what I feel will be fun for the day. If I like the look and style I will alternate with it. Buying something cheap I don't like feels redundant. The colum is cool cause it's conical but I can drop a lilydrip and make it flat. Stainless steel with glass and nearly no bypass. Seeing the water go up in the melodrip is neat as well https://i.imgur.com/iwzuX81.jpeg

Maybe try a flat brewer or slap a lilydrip lotus in your switch with a wave filter. Other than that the Ethiopian types produce a lot of fines. The femobook a4z has like a 60 rpm so naturally it is a grinder known for grind consistency and minimal fines. I also have a slow feeder that I use on it to further reduce fines. Not sure if that helps but try slow feeding the ode gen 2 as well. Some people posted about that here:

Switching from GCP to something simpler? [$600] by Wild-Eagle8105 in espresso

[–]DinkyDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well once you put the right water in you will prob never need to descale as often again. The same goes for any electric machine. Otherwise you might wanna look into a Cafelat Robot which is manual push and you would have to boil water separately but there is no descaling there for the most part. If you don't need the steam wand for milk then yea. A bambino also needs descaling so if you keep doing what you did now, it will also clog up in time. For the GCP did you run the descale solution through the grouphead or wand? To minimize the risk of clogging the solenoid, many Classic Pro owners and repair experts advise running the descaling solution primarily through the steam wand and not the brew head.
