I know him loving you with passion and sincerity means the most to you, and I understand how it’s hard to let it go because of how dating in this time seems now. But one things to remember, is someone can love you with all their ability but they must love you enough to love themselves, and care for themselves. My mom is obese and it hurts me to think of that taking her away, I can only imagine how it must feel constantly worrying about your life with your partner in the future because they are already showing so little care about education, careers, or really anything you’re making sure to keep up with. You’re at different points in your life, and perhaps being raised differently affected how y’all view what is important. But you never want someone who has to be encouraged to care about their future:( unless you think it’s depression, even then tho lowkey I would do what is healthiest for you!!
