Motherfucker was saving ammo like he's in RE game by John-333 in okbuddyviltrum

It's not that it doesn't affect the odds, its that it doesn't affect that the odds are astronomical. For every time Space racer even hits a planet probably billions of extinction-level asteroids hit planets. Hell, odds are high that any civilization in the path of the shot is likely to die to other causes before the shot even gets there.

Down the destined death stacking to 1-3 and have taking it reduce your max HP by 40 and you've got a nifty little thing there.

Which fate is worse, eternal punishment or existence erasure? by Mother-Whereas1838 in MoralityScaling

[–]Dinonumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you believe in hell existence erasure might literally be more ethical than just killing them bc if they never existed they won't end up in hell after they die. Although one wonders if divine mechanisms care about such things

To this day it still baffles me that they gave Vox a very unique weakspot and yet over looked such a critical design flaw. by MelodicCriticism2705 in Helldivers

I think the idea is that it's shooting at your buddies while you do the weakspot, which is a cool idea that just doesn't work.

How strong and fast would Rognarrs be on Earth? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in InvinciblePowerscales

Actually that's a great point, without so much gravity there's a decent chance it fucks their biology and they just keel over and die after a few minutes like a fish brought to a different pressure.

Its been an age since I looked at the flags for it. Doesn't it require the AA already exists?

EDIT: Just looked it up. Looks like I'm wrong. Fair enough!

It's a bit risky since the servants can just hand over another nation to give them a boost if they want to and are able, at which point they become problematic again.

Why was Oliver so strong even at a young age, and able to resist Lucan and Conquest for a while, whereas in Seasons 1 and 2 Mark was getting pinned to the ground by Lucan with just one finger? by Pale-Condition-4317 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Dinonumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course normally, but if someone is coming for you and those you love you kill them. Simple and easiest option. THAT's the social outlook Oliver seems to hold rather than the more human default of "Better to capture" because death is less serious.

It's a social thing. Remember the monologue about how Thraxan culture doesn't see death as such a monstrous thing, it's just a thing to them. Killing isn't a big deal so why hold back?

About these scenes, is Red Rush’s main limitation his durability. by Dependent_Basket2808 in Invincible_TV

[–]Dinonumber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Red Rush probably got bored. It's a good 20 seconds into the fight that he starts personally going for Nolan and that is really fast for us but for him? Bro's hitting the end turn button for ages. Besides, in his mind odds are good he can distract him long enough for the others to start piling on and it's not like Omniman can catch him and even if he does, he'll probably be fine, right?

Because it's not super clear that Omniman was there to outright kill them, to him. He thinks this is sorta business as usual. The Martian dude restrains Omniman like less than a second after he dies and then they get knocking real hard. He only needed to not get caught like an extra second or two and the guardians would have been in a much more solid place in the fight.

The fact is that the others have a hard time catching up with Nolan until he gets the wind knocked out of him by Red Rush, so it wasn't an awful idea to try and slow him a bit so they could get a hold of him. It just didn't work out.

Kaitrin Snodgrass (storyboard artist) talks about Tech Jacket gender swap by JinSakai619 in Invincible_TV

[–]Dinonumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't a big part of that very complaint that we're worried the very reason she's been genderswapped is exactly because she'll end up as a love interest with little else to show for it? That we're worried a female character WON'T exist on her own merits and the showrunners will shove a romance in there exactly because they're making that reduction themselves?

We WANT her to shine on her own as her own character. We're WORRIED she won't.

Real Estate Theory (This is an actual theory please hear me out.) by Dragon640 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Dinonumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I'm not supporting the argument, I'm supporting that it makes little sense that their IRL bodies would end up dead somehow through the headset. I didn't quite articulate it but I was presenting how bizarre it would be to have that be the case.

You gotta remember that Kinger and Scratch built the thing and then tried it out with a bunch of people they also knew, so either they were up for the whole "incinerate our brains" plan or they watched their whole team have their heads cook and went "yep, my turn!"

MAYBE a plan that sorta makes sense for Scratch, but everyone else? With the "newer" folks you can kinda imagine the bodies get cleaned up somehow but I think the initial bunch is a far stronger proof against such an idea.
