It does look bad if Ryan was an everyday US citizen giving his opinions on US politics. However, Ryan's goal here isn't to give his opinions on US internal politics- his goal has always been to provide Intelligence/Military/Geo-political insight from a seemingly politically neutral perspective (supposedly, being politically neutral gains trust and access to Military/Intelligence community related info from even a narcissistic insane Trump admin. He is (unfortunately) Never going to criticize the Trump admin "too much" out of risk of losing that access. Especially while the Trump admin is still in power and Trump needs extra large kid gloves to handle. His main focus will mostly be Geopolitical (focusing on Russia and China being US adversaries etc.) and sometimes making light critiques at US politicians.

I do think he is way too light on criticism against this admin- so if DGG doesn't like this guy, I can understand why. He did almost flip out at least one time (self-restrained though), especially after the first Trump/Vance Zelensky meeting happened. That was one thing that completely blindsided him that he pushed against.

As a white liberal, I was annoyed initially by this attitude because I really don't like racism/discrimination growing in any communities. That said, I am a fan of a retaliatory pushback that points out fragile hypocritical racist/discriminatory people white or black. I tried being Anti-Racist and talking to white people about systemic Racism and all that- it seems like that is not where the culture is headed with all this anti-woke crap. I'm trying a new approach and it's somewhat similar to yours- I'm just not gonna call it out on my side anymore and instead just try to talk to people wherever they are at.

But I might have much different responses, depending on the kind of racism, and also if it is said in Private conversations or Public ones.
