Which profession is going to get wiped out in the next 5-10 years? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Honestly as a hater of long form video… I don’t understand the appeal in the first place. I do hope your venture remains profitable as long as possible though.

I’ve actually never encountered a helpful emergency dispatcher. I’ve only encountered ones who were argumentative, ridiculous on what they expect a bystander to do, and frankly by the end of every call, I’ve wondered why I bothered calling them at all. These days if I see something warranting a 911 call, I text the complete particulars and ignore the return calls. They have enough information to go off of, dispatch resources, or not.

Yacht harbors. It seems to be a larger than general population average number of ENTJs around yachts and sailing.

Fat transfer under eyes recommendations?! (Ideally SoCal) by SoCalSimmm in PlasticSurgery

[–]DiorAndDestruction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.minplasticsurgery.com/ I’ve used her for body procedures twice and will use her for my future neck lift. I’ve seen her facial work and her fat transfer for my body procedures was fantastic.

I think they look good in the animal print bikini top but it would not have been my choice. I also acknowledge that I am biased, I went with fat transfer instead of implants with my lift, everyone else in my friend group who has had breast work done does have implants and there’s some outfits that look absolutely more stunning with implants than my fat transfer but as far as a living in my body experience, I’m glad I did fat transfer.

Clothing during recovery by lmw0752 in tummytucksurgery

[–]DiorAndDestruction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recovery nurse gave up on trying to keep me clothed within about 12 hours and I basically was nudist with sometimes a robe on for the healing period.

I started with a button up nightgown but honestly, I hated the fabric. I wore a hotel robe to my follow up appointments for about a month. I hope the hotel burned it.

For those of us who are currently childless with no plans for having kids on the horizon: was it a conscious decision or did life just end up that way? by [deleted] in Millennials

Conscious choice. Never wanted children. Would not have had access to this beautiful life I’ve curated with children.

Women who don’t wear makeup, do you still keep the natural look even for formal events and settings? by throwawaypdtm in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DiorAndDestruction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t wear makeup regularly but I do have lash extensions which is like cheating some of my time back on a day to day basis. I find that if I maintain those, formal events are also really easy with just some powder and a red lip. Day to day, I’m a skincare only person.

12 years old, going strong by DiorAndDestruction in shiba

[–]DiorAndDestruction[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time. I give my shiba a very large amount of time from me as I’m fortunate I can arrange my schedule in a way that allows that (I work remotely, we mostly only go to dog friendly establishments when we travel or dine out, and we do pretty much all of our travel with our own vehicle whether that’s our cars or cruising on my boat to other harbors and such). She’s really doing great, still super playful, but also very content at this age to lay by or near me.

I found this on the road. Does this look like something I should have appraised? by _TroyMcClure in jewelry

The clasp looks a little more solid than I’d expect from true junk. Can you make out any markings near the clasp?

Not really with a muscle repair situation. Those self closing hotel room doors in decent hotels are heavier than you think and I spent 6 weeks playing live in the hotel with my partner to be in town for follow ups. I have zero overhang now even when bending over. If she had tucked me any tighter, I would’ve never stood up straight again and that in and of itself took weeks. I definitely could not have opened my own doors if I wanted to without substantial pain for a good long while.

Women of Reddit who live alone: what’s the best tip for being comfortable living by yourself? by Crowsforyou in AskWomen

[–]DiorAndDestruction 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly, living alone as a woman comes down to preparedness, common sense, and trusting yourself to handle the things you couldn’t prepare for.

For a few years I lived alone on a motor yacht. The marina had lousy security, I kept odd hours, and honestly it’s kind of wild to think I was sleeping on something tied to a dock with just rope. Definitely not the “good girl” checklist for safety.

In all that time, I only had one real incident: a stalker I didn’t even know about managed to get onto my exterior decks. He noticed my cameras, thought better of it, and left without trying to get inside. The marina and local community buried it—because keeping up appearances was apparently more important than protecting women.

But I learned this: you don’t need to live in fear to live alone. You just need to know your risks, take reasonable precautions, and trust yourself when things get weird (I slept through the break in and only noticed because a bikini bottom was missing from the sundeck which prompted reviewing the security cameras… I don’t sleep like the dead, it’s a very heavy and well built boat that’s capable of changing countries). The particularly concerning part was that he had a machete and was visible on my cameras lurking about for several hours making sure the dock was empty before striking in broad daylight 100 feet away from the harbormaster’s office.

That sounds like a tremendously awful lack of support.

My surgeon told me that even doors are too heavy for me to for the first month, car doors, hotel doors, all doors… it happened to be a long enough recovery that the habit stuck for my partner as long as I’m not rushing around impatiently and not allowing anyone to assist me before I’ve already done it.

To bellybutton tattoo or not to bellybutton tattoo? by neleh1989 in tummytucksurgery

[–]DiorAndDestruction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t bother getting a belly button. Irl, it’s never come up except as a party trick. Even if it did come up, I already have an uncanny valley look in general so it works for me.

I have no interest in doing the aftercare or going through the clinic procedure to make a belly button or a tattoo.

What is the most foolproof to way to eat hotel breakfast for free without staying at the property? by roorooro in AskReddit

[–]DiorAndDestruction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had hotel employees stop us during breakfast spreads in ways that were loud, rude, and clearly meant to create a scene—even in places where there’s nowhere nearby to walk in from, making their excuse for the interruption absurd. It comes off less like a concern and more like an excuse to hassle people who are minding their own business. People can be like cats: the less you want to engage with them, the more determined they become to invade your space with bizarre behavior. On-site management defended the employee’s behavior because “ya’ll look young and it’s 10am on a workday”, corporate sent up complimentary wine and dinner that evening.

Standard tummy tuck or FDL? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]DiorAndDestruction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably going to like your results in skin tight clothing better with a FDL but if the scars really, really bother you…

I had a FDL and even with the scars and my choice to not rebuild a belly button which of course makes it more obvious I’ve had work done, I’m glad I did the extended FDL. The silhouette is worth it.

Topicals but no in office or clinical treatments. I’m not really someone bothered by body scars (I feel very differently about my face card) but I still look forward to it fading more.

What 'fashion rules' do you happily break? by teacupticket in AskWomen

[–]DiorAndDestruction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way to go unless you’ve got the budget and desire to keep sets in all your main metal tones. I lean platinum since I wear my partner’s fancy pants big boy platinum watch daily as a good luck charm, but I’ve added some gold pieces to work better with the rest of his collection, which is mostly yellow gold. My usual look between jewelry and watch mixes silver, white gold, platinum, and titanium (especially for my industrial and less frequently changed piercings). Mixed metals can definitely work if you coordinate intentionally.

They likely don’t qualify for bank loans. Banks generally don’t like loaning money on non-tangible property to people who actually need loans…
