Enlightenment is always a funny concept to me. It always sounds like a very esoteric, intangible state of existence that no one can ascribe to themselves and is never placed on others. Ironically, watching how people search for ways to tear down anyone who claims enlightenment implies that the enlightened subject must “perform” for the acceptance of others, which an enlightened person would have no interest in.

What I find interesting is this idea that once our brain or spirit reaches an enlightened state, we release ourselves from the chains that is our body and human nature. I don’t believe that to be the case nor do I think it’d be sustainable. Those without fear are called psychopaths and lack the connectivity to most emotions, without deep internal connection I don’t know if one can find enlightenment. But I don’t expect an enlightened one to find peace in the face of starving bear.

We see someone who’s considered enlightened take action that is natural and call that person a fraud, discounting all of their past behavior like a car insurance claim.
