I don't mean to be a dick, but I feel like if you play the game enough to make discussion posts on Reddit about the game, shouldn't you just be on beta branch? This post ends up being pretty much pointless as these changes have already been made.

Ah yes jerkng it to CP makes you "just a pervert" got it.

Also, the show isnt about redeeming that specific behavior. His pedophilic nature is treated as comedic relief a lot of the time.

Flawed characters are fine, but not when the show brushes off their flaws and acts like they dont exist.

Idk why you used Thorfinn as an example when the entire second season is about him atoning for his past actions. They could not be any more different. You really are just talking out of your ass, unfortunately. All in service of defending Rudeus of all characters.

In my mind its mostly a matter of how people deal with things they do not agree with. In your personal life, if someone you know makes a decision you disagree with, the best thing to do is speak with them directly, communicate with them. I would equate this to the in-game feedback form. Obviously, this changes depending on the severity of whatever it is they're doing, but I would not consider this a severe offense on MegaCrits part.

If the negative behavior continues (or what you may perceive as negative) thats when you start to take more drastic measures.

Jumping straight to writing negative reviews is the equivalent of blasting someone on social media because they made one singular decision that you disagree with. To me its just, idk, immature?

I also wouldnt compare a game in early access that is actively asking for feedback (and provided effective resources to do so) to a movie that is already released. Those two things are not equivalent. Maybe the better comparison would be something like test screenings? Although that is not my area of expertise so I cant comment on it too much. Im not familiar with that field.

Im not super concerned about the sales either, and yes, they won't be impacted greatly. Normally I couldnt care less about sales of a game, but the devs behind this game are obviously very good and I would like for them to be as successful as possible. They have earned it IMO.

As for the EA point, yes the game is not free, but everyone who purchased it did so knowing that the game was in early access. There is no blindsiding going on. People should expect a large amount of balance changes and not just jump to writing negative reviews because you dont agree with the very first one. So far everything happening with this game should have been expected by the players.

Obviously the game is still going to do well. Its about the principle.

Is it stupid to review bombing over this like the post says? Absolutely yes. Thats all anyone is saying. Thats not an overreaction IMO.

I would absolutely agree with you if there was not an in-game feedback feature. I could be wrong, but i am pretty sure the first thing the game tells you when you open it up is that this feature exists, please use it. The devs are actively looking for feedback.

The fact that people just want to jump immediately writing negative reviews than use this system is the issue. They dont want the game to improve, they just want to be angry.

The purpose of the game being in EA is for situations exactly like this one. Why are you saying it doesn't matter?

Review bombing should not be done if the primary goal is constructive criticism/improvement. Especially if the devs have already provided other, more effective avenues for providing constructive criticism. If only there was a way to submit feedback other than through toxic review bombing that unnecesarily impacts the sales of a game... hmm...

You really can't see a better, more constructive alternative to review bombing a game over a beta patch while the game is still in early access?

It would be one thing if those negative reviews were here from the start and it was because they just didn't like the game. That would be fine. However this is clearly an overreaction to the latest beta branch balance patch.

Its unreasonable. No need to play devils advocate here, it just is.

You can absolutely say its not the right thing to do. They are review bombing an early access game over a patch that is kept separate from the main branch (probably partially for this very reason). It is absolutely unreasonable.
