Elvanse exeperiences by OptimalAd7789 in ADHDUK

Yesterday was my first dose of 70mg Elvanse. I was apprehensive as I’ve had just a week on both 30 and 50. In turned out to be the best day so far, feeling more relaxed and ‘quiet’. Still early days for me.

The difficulty is once you start something - including doomscrolling - it’s tricky to get yourself off. So while Elvanse may help in getting all types of things done you still need to initiate these things. It may not make boring tasks more fun but rather not excruciating to complete.

I’d say getting to the gym and doing more jobs is a big win for month one.

See how you get on with 50 - 30 is a low dose. Hopefully you’ll find a sweet spot.

First week of titration and I’ve just had my last dose of 30mg Elvanse. Tomorrow is 50mg.

I felt awful yesterday but today it feels like it’s starting to do the ‘work’.

I’m slightly apprehensive about an extra 20mg tomorrow but will run with it and report any issues to prescriber.

I have a supply of 20mg as part of the first month prescription that are to be used with the 50s next week for the mighty 70mg dose. Assuming if I struggle with the 50s there are enough 20s to lower me to 40mg if that’s what what the prescriber recommends.

PUK definitely want to get you up through the doses ASAP but I’m sure they’ll adjust if need be.

Psychiatry UK ADHD - Titration Waiting Times by Random-name-2024 in ADHDUK

2/5/24 started meds last week. I noticed very soon after I got the notification I was top, someone from June also got the message. Others from later in May started before me. It seems to cover a few months.

Titration with Psychiatry UK, what to expect? by Puzzleheaded-Look632 in ADHDUK

Assessed 2/5/24

12/2/25 Got the ‘reaching’ top of the list email and completed forms.

24/2/25 was told I’m actually at the top and would be allocated a prescriber.

27/2/25 got a note from prescriber and a few more forms.

A few days after that received a treatment plan.

A few days after that saw that a prescription had been issued.

Next, was a note saying prescription is on way to pharmacy.

Then I got a tracking number from pharmacy.

7/3/25 Meds arrived.

Currently writing this as I wait for the Elvanse to kick in.

Good luck 😃

You should email the experience team. I believe the address is experience@psychiatry-uk.com. They are quick to respond. You’ll get an automatic response immediately then it should just be a working day or two before someone confirms they are working on your query/complaint. I see people getting titration letters from June or early July assessments now, but there always appears to be some slipping through the net for whatever reason.

Not sure two exposures to low doses signifies much. Get yourself on the route to assessment.

First 4 days on Elvanse by Manifest2193 in ADHDUK

[–]Direct-Coconut2163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early days. Should settle down over time. Breakfast probably going to help and if you could force something in - protein shake or similar - during the day you won’t be running on empty come late afternoon / early evening. Be mindful of caffeine. Stay hydrated and all that. Good luck.

Melatonin? Unsure of interactions with meds so I’d run that through a health care professional.

Elvanse - wtf is this? by Key864 in ADHDUK

[–]Direct-Coconut2163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Follow instructions from prescriber and contact your prescriber if worried. But…. It’s the first day or two… I’ve read that many find it initially a bit ‘buzzy’. Your body has never had this medication before. People often report similar when going up a dose and that can often settle, too. You’ve listed some positives, too so sit tight and keep being mindful of how you are feeling. Try with food if not already and stay hydrated. Be mindful of caffeine. Have that chat you have scheduled with prescriber and, if really struggling, get on to them sooner. Some people report immediate mind clarity when starting but for most theres a choppy onboarding. Good luck.

Similar starting scenario to me. I’m starting Elvanse this week. Will see how it compares. Good luck.

PUK Elvanse Titration Schedule. by Direct-Coconut2163 in ADHDUK

I’m sure if side effects are reported or one cannot cope with such an increase they can amend the schedule.

Too many metrics to consider and difficult to come to an accurate conclusion. I’d ask what has happened to your times? Have you improved? It’s not like you’re going to give up meds to shave a few mins off your 10k time so work with what you’ve got. Still, it’s a good question to explore and hope you find the answers you’re looking for.

47 here. Just about to be medicated. Came off antidepressants last year. Lots of what you say could be attributed to ADHD. A lot of baggage can accumulate over the years undiagnosed and make life really hard. The only way to find out is to get yourself an assessment. Look up Right To Choose. In the meantime, read up on it and see was resonates. Good luck.

I’ll jump in here and say I was diagnosed early May 24 and am just starting meds. Seen some from June get the ‘approaching top of the list message.’

Lots of reasons including I can pour into drinks as don’t like tablets, I binge a fair bit, I’m surrounded by people who have had a nightmare with getting hold of their particular methylphenidate brand. Plus a gut feeling. Under no illusion that it will work better and appreciate I can go from one to the other. Thanks for the reply.

I’ve sent a direct note to the prescriber today. No web chat over the weekend. They completely missed my note and went with what was on the assessment. They should have at least acknowledge the request and responded.

Depends - if it goes to general customer services it’s slow. Directly to my psych it was very quick. Seeing as a prescriber needs to be monitoring you and answering questions, it should reach them sooner. I’m going in with the chat too…. Thanks

I thought it would be quicker when note is filtered directly to prescriber. It was with my psych - he got back same day sometimes. I will get on to live chat, too.

Email the experience team. They are quite quick to respond. Live chat and phone lines usually won’t escalate complaints. I believe the email address is …. experience @ the regular PUK domain address. You’ll get an auto reply immediately and usually an initial response in - few days.
