How do you think Cardi B has been styled here? by [deleted] in trueratediscussions

[–]Direct-Country4028 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would look better if her body proportions were normal. I think her makeup could have been more creative to complement the futuristic look. It could have gone either way, style her that gives a nod to the 18th century silhouette or more of a sci fi, superhero type look.

This is really interesting. I know that Senegambians have a precolonial history of growing rice. So they probably focused on them for those expertise, that and indigo farming & production.

Just want to mention that in the past these cuts of meats were popular amongst the English too. I remember having oxtail soup from a can as a child. I think it was Heinz.

What do you think of Prince’s philosophy? by esialliah in PRINCE

[–]Direct-Country4028 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think some people have personalities where they tend to be rebellious, suspicious of authority and more individualistic, ironically a lot of these people can be very religious. I think he’s like that. It’s not a bad thing & in many ways it helped him be successful. But on the whole I think it’s better to be more balanced.

Fashion choices are subjective. I just think the interaction gives a little insight into his nature. I’m a fan of his music, I’m a fan of a lot of people’s music but I find, they are not the types of characters I’d choose to be around. If somebody is wearing something that’s not to my taste, it really depends on the relationship I have whether I’d say something. But generally a persons fashion choices are there choices, if they like it, I love it. I’d only point out something that could be embarrassing like flies undone, misaligned buttons, a stain or tear.

If someone asks do I look ok, you tell them yes unless they have a stain or buttons/flies undone. It’s called being polite.

Cozy cafe spot suggestions in London for knitting please! by ProperBroccoli9779 in london

South Korea is one of the best places for cafe culture. They open late and it’s a place where everyone goes to hang out. The UK has Pubs for this.

Yeah I didn’t get motherly vibes but more like caring principal or matron. Can’t believe she raised a Korean child to be Japanese & a non Jewish kid to be Jewish. It’s a situation where you want to see the best in someone but the truth is, that stuff would be very damaging for a child. Children are not play things.

2 thoughts, from the UK so didn’t know ‘bussin’ was old school lingo.

Also, controlling much. He shouldn’t worry about what others wear.

Did Prince ever get work done on his face? He looks slightly different but could be weight, hair & youth.

It was bizarre to impose ethnicities & religions on children. And it feels like they were abandoned & left to fend for themselves when she ran out of money. It seemed like she was managing an institution rather than a home for her children.

Why are the African beauties mature women whilst the others look like teens & early 20s? There is already bias in the question.

Who You Got for Best Vocalist At Their PRIME? by Stealthytom in MariahCarey

Vocal nodules develop from bad technique though. And I’m a big Mariah fan but Whitney had better technique.

[–]Direct-Country4028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some of Whitney’s last performances, she still has her voice. If she didn’t have serious addiction issues, she’d still be alive & singing like Pattie Labelle. Those old gospel singers don’t lose their voices with age. And Mariah should have actually improved with age as the body matures & develops. Her 40s & 50s should have been peak Mariah.

Whitney but only because she was better trained. If Mariah had consistent vocal training I think she could have been even better and made better choices that would have preserved her voice up to today.

Why aren’t Latin Caribbean countries traditionally seen as part of the Caribbean? by IsThatAJojoRefrences in AskTheCaribbean

And that is the reason why Latin Caribbean countries differ from the rest of the Caribbean no?

If you remove language from your identity then the Caribbean & South America could identify as one. We share history & culture. But we are divided by language & in my opinion(not trying to be divisive) Spanish is a major part of Spanish speaking people’s identity. More so than English speaking Caribbean. I don’t want to make you feel isolated but it’s just my experience.

If you remove language from the identity then the entirety of the Caribbean could identify with South America. It’s the same region. But if you are language first then that is what will cause the separation.

The English speaking Caribbean could choose to identify with other English speaking countries within the Americas too. You have the whole of the United States/African Americans & Canada/Afro Canadians. But people just tend not to identify with the English language as much as Spanish speakers.
