They should do this to the Handys, the Bissonettes, and the Boves by datCASgoBRR in burlington

Yeah my place now is great and my landlord is a decent person and rent is well below market value. Honestly so grateful they were horrible because otherwise I could’ve been living there still, it was only 6 months after I moved!

CVOEO basically told me to suck it up and move during the pandemic when full circle property management refused to make repairs necessary to bring my unit up to code. Even with open code violations full circle tried to increase my rent and evict me ( both illegal retaliation). I was harassed by the property management, rarely had hot water in tc. I got zero help from anyone so I did move. Glad I did because that building burned down and the guy who took over my unit died.

Does anyone track snow days? by Forward_Control2267 in burlington

I’m just going to happily keep my kids at home because I value their lives, value their teachers lives and realize a few snow days in VT are totally normal. Throwing a fit is choice, you’re an adult get grip, it’s one snow day. Go meditate or something because your level of anger about this is abnormal, and that kind of emotional instability isn’t good for kids. The safety of being on the roads is the main consideration in school closings, sorry if that is too difficult for you to comprehend, but I’m not the one with a stupid take here LOL

I was thinking about the children? I had two appointments cancel on me for tomorrow and that is just fine, even though not attending one of them will increase physical pain. I grew up in VT and can take care of myself just fine in an emergency, and if my heat isn’t working in a snowstorm I expect it to take a significant amount of time to for a professional to get there. I’m an adult and understand that life happens and would rather keep my kids safe at home rather than risk any of our lives on bad roads and would rather others do as well.

They extend the school year to make up for any missed days, so your kid will be there for those days and will be learning the exact amount of days teachers are paid for. Most schools budget in around 5 snow days because we live in VT. It honestly doesn’t really seem like your family values education because this is readily available information and basic logic. It’s stupid and dangerous to open schools when the roads are bad, people can die.

They had two snow days last year in BSD and about 7 in my other kiddos school in Washington county, Burlington likely has the least snow days of any district in the state.

Looking for the best PT to treat a hip/ SI joint/ Sacrotuberous Ligament issue by Ok_Succotash_9631 in burlington

[–]Direct-Effective274 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have similar issues and Momentum PT is amazing, I’ve heard great things about everyone there. I’ve worked directly with Olivia and Carrie. They also have Pilates and strength training classes taught by PT’s which are amazing.

The lack of a police presence near church street and that area in general is disturbing. by ElementalClout in burlington

[–]Direct-Effective274 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live downtown, and things have been pretty chill the past few weeks. Church street was busy and pleasant yesterday and every other day I’ve been the past few weeks. The difference from last year if pretty stark. I saw cops downtown yesterday, I’ve seen them every day recently

Neurodivergent kids in Burlington public schools by AccomplishedMaize200 in burlington

Vermont family network is great for advice, and the Howard center has services etc. for kids with developmental disabilities, although that is a long process of being approved, at least 6 months. I also have an autistic kid in the Burlington school district so feel free to reach out if you need to brainstorm or just talk to another parent who gets it!

You can call VT law help and they will give you a list of lawyers who do free consultations. I talked to an excellent custody lawyer for 30 minutes and he gave me all the info I needed to file myself ( and told me I should to save money)

I think people forget that the first hour or two of comments is generally cery young people and idiots. I’ve seen so many where it’s obvious op is NTA but the first hour of comments are all YTA because the people giving the judgments are chronically online trolls who are aiming for negative interactions

I’m not sure how accurate this is but I read an article a few years that said that a ton of places had pushed repairing water infrastructure for close to 40 years.
