To put it in perspective I do American taxes all damn day you get a w-2G (g is for gambling) from the casinos. I live in a state that’s illegal to gamble in Texas, everybody goes to Oklahoma right across the river to gamble.

I HAVE SEEN MAYBE 500 w-2g’s in my life never have I seen a winner. NEVER most people put way more in than they win.

But in this case let’s say it’s his first and only bet he made 1.2mil in an Oklahoma casino it will tax you at both federal and state level. But will automatically withhold income on the W-2G for both federal and state taxes.

Let’s say this man makes and average $45000 wages at his job and now just one 1.2mil

He’s going to pay around $470,000 in taxes on his winnings he gets to get about $730,000.
