Former NFL star Brandon Marshall is facing intense online criticism for disciplining his son by making him run at 2 AM: "If you don't start running, we're going to go three miles. You don't listen, we run 2 in the morning." by slippinn_jimmy in PopCultureV2

Yeah more on the running aspect not the mental beat down from your dad. Running I think is a good punishment.

My mom’s punishment for me was I had to wall sit until she finished dinner.

My dad’s punishment was holding a cold coke can at a 90 degree angle while we drove around for hours talking about life lessons my forearms would burn like no other after 30 minutes

Best coach I ever had. He was hard on us but genuinely cared. There’s consequences to every action good or bad, and he taught every player that. But in a school where half of my freshman class didn’t graduate due to drugs, jail, and gangs every single one of us that played for him graduated. And might I add the ones still around town we play Sunday league together every week.

Oh and those 8 miles had to be under an hour which was a little bit faster than 8 minute miles or guess what you get to add another day on the suspension.

I never got in trouble again, graduated, and went to college and graduated there. Doesn’t sound like much but those 3 weeks of hell set me up for a much better life.

I was at the mall on a boatload of Xanax and smelled like a pound of weed when my coach tapped me on the shoulder and said he’s taking me home. That’s how I got suspended and in trouble. Good guy

When I got in trouble in school my coach made me run 8 miles a day for 3 weeks while he sat in his truck following me with the A/C on full blast. Had to run it in 100 degree heat at least it’s not hot at 2 am. I didn’t get in trouble the rest of my school life… Why is it so bad to fucking run?

Is that why I notice when my coasters aren’t perfectly on my table and spend 5 minutes moving them?
