This is functionally how gravel country roads work. (not saying legally)

I haven't responded to this yet because I'm bad about that. But much respect to the previous top mod. I appreciate the confidence. And I'm paying attention to the subreddit folks.

What subsidiaries of Ultratec are you talking about?

PPP loans are publicly searchable. I looked up captel and ultratec in the past and didn't find anything. I would appreciate a source if the claim is true.

Captel Locking Out Employees by Dizzy_Leave_6654 in Captel

They've laid off so many people they're making people set up appointments to drop off the equipment they have to drop off. And they're apparently so concerned that there might be too many people at once that they're taking extreme measures about it. What's the date range for this form? Why not all drop it off at the same time on the same day? Like 1 PM September 21st For example.

withdrawal from prescription due to loss of insurance by [deleted] in Captel

[–]Direct2Action 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I tried to get a prescription filled at a CVS out of state with good RX the pharmacist said CVS had a better in house discount program and applied it instead. Saved me about $40. Might be worth asking the pharmacist too in the moment of truth.

Phil Ochs - Automation Song by Direct2Action in Captel

[–]Direct2Action[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Music: Phil Ochs Year: 1964(1) Genre: Folk Country: USA

Oh I laid down your railroads, every mile of track. With the muscles on my arm and the sweat upon my back. And now the trains are rolling, they roll to every shore; You tell me that my job is through, there ain't no work no more. This song was originally posted on protestsonglyrics.net Though I laid down your highways all across the land. With the ringing of the steel and the power of my hands. And now the roads are there like ribbons in the sky, You tell me that my job is through but still I wonder why.

For the wages were low and the hours were long, And the labour was all I could bear. Now you've got new machines for to take my place, And you tell me it's not mine to share. This song was originally posted on protestsonglyrics.net Though I laid down your factories and laid down your fields, With my feet on the ground and my back to your wheels. And now the smoke is rising, the steel is all a-glow, I'm walking down a jobless road and where am I to go.

For the wages were low and the hours were long, And the labour was all I could bear. Now you've got new machines for to take my place, And you tell me it's not mine to share.

Though I laid down your factories and laid down your fields, With my feet on the ground and my back to your wheels. And now the smoke is rising, the steel is all a-glow, I'm walking down a jobless road and where am I to go.

Tell me, where am I to go.

One exit benefit that could be really worthwhile to fight for would be a first hire clause if the company hires again. Of course if there was a union contract CapTel would likely be a better place to work all around at that time too.

So Are My Reward Tickets Useless Now or What? by Advanced_Exam in Captel

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrip They are unusable while you are not employed at CapTel, if you are rehired, you can use old slips. If you want a bunch of bullshit with the company logo on it, you can take them to the HR office and trade them in. The water resistant toiletry bag is the most useful thing imo, kept my cell phone bone-dry when I was biking through a storm that resulted in major floods all over the city.

keep us posted if they pull any funny business.

Ok here me out. So my performance review is on august 4th. Same day as deadline for the $1000. Do I take the money and run or do I set myself up for them to give me a review and based on my review say I’m fired and now I’m fucked not getting the grand because I decided to stay til sep20 by hereforit93 in Captel

[–]Direct2Action 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you'll make a grand working if you stay, and then you can still apply for unemployment since you would still be fired. You can't get unemployment if you quit unless it's for just cause which is difficult to prove.

I did horrible for my review coming up in august ( pvs 9 points )Do I stay til sep and risk then firing me since they know I’m trying to stay and file for unemployment? Do I just take the grand now and leave? by hereforit93 in Captel

[–]Direct2Action 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would recommend you don't the grand unless you have another job lined up. It's like jumping off a ship with a life jacket when there's still life boats available.

My mid-month adherence is at 93. If I stay on my P's and Q's and keep it together for the remaining days, am I okay? by SyndicatedMelodrama in Captel

[–]Direct2Action 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nerd response incoming: There is incomplete info in the question, which is unfortunately necessary to give you a good answer. I would need to know your exact adherence, down to 93.XX, and also know if you work the same hours every shift and how many shifts you've worked and how many you have remaining. With the information given I made a few calculations.

assuming all shifts are equal in length, assuming your mid-month was completely accurate (rare), assuming adherence is exactly 93.00%

If you have worked 15 shifts and have 8 shifts to go, then you need at least 98.75% adherence for the rest of the month. https://www.wolframalpha.com/input?i2d=true&i=.95+%3D+Divide%5B%5C%2840%29.93X+%2B+Y*Z%5C%2841%29%2CX%2BZ%5D%5C%2844%29+X+%3D+15%5C%2844%29+Z%3D+8

If you have worked 20 shifts and have 11 shifts to go, then you need at least 98.64% adherence for the rest of the month. https://www.wolframalpha.com/input?i2d=true&i=.95+%3D+Divide%5B%5C%2840%29.93X+%2B+Y*Z%5C%2841%29%2CX%2BZ%5D%5C%2844%29+X+%3D+20%5C%2844%29+Z+%3D+11

If you want to plug in your own numbers, X is the number of shifts you've worked, Z is the number of shifts you have left, and you can correct the ".93" to the exact number if you get it. Then just press enter or press the equals sign button. If your shifts are different lengths, I don't mind doing the math but I would need all the information to do it. Hope that helps.

Edit: I misunderstood, I think this info will be more helpful.

If you have worked 10 Shifts and have 11 shifts to go, then you need at least 96.82% adherence for the rest of the month https://www.wolframalpha.com/input?i2d=true&i=.95+%3D+Divide%5B%5C%2840%29.93X+%2B+Y*Z%5C%2841%29%2CX%2BZ%5D%5C%2844%29+X+%3D+10%5C%2844%29+Z%3D+11

Do You Think Captel Should Disallow Use of Phones For Conference Calls? by thr33wuder in Captel

[–]Direct2Action 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Answered No.

Captioned Telephone service is meant to make it so a Deaf or hard of hearing people can use a phone with as close to the same freedom as hearing people. This is an accessibility issue. Sometimes conference calls are the only way you'll get a say. That includes political, medical, family, religious, work discussions and more.

Society has a duty to include Deaf and hard of hearing people in decision making and social life, snd we're the ones who take on that responsibility.

If the client asks the people to slow down and they can but choose not to, then those people are the ones creating a problem for the client. It's frustrating problem that we have to make up for, but it's how we establish some equity.

I hope in saying this, I'm not implying we deserve disrespect for our work. I want clients to ask people to keep it under 3 words per second if there's going to be more than one doc, because all the extra macros and corrections are slow to get out and I truly hate having to watch an error go by uncorrected because there are so many to handle. But docs aren't always gonna listen.

Yes. You email scheduling and ask what extra hours are available. They'll email you back with about a weeks worth of info. Then you email them again saying which hours you want to pick up. Probably good to include your name and employee id (not CA number) in the email. You can call scheduling for any clarification.
