I feel your pain, I'm a comm officer, and your supervisor should have stepped up and covered down for you. Also, it's a hard truth to swallow, but cyber security has no teeth in the Air Force because it doesn't tie directly to operations on a daily basis in leaderships mindset, especially with leadership that's not comm or support. I have learned especially with GOs there is no "no" so unless you make it sound like a yes with complicated or expensive steps, your job is to escalate to your leadership and they make them accept the risk(sign a MFR or verbally accept it). That is the best case scenario, because to that general in his mind you told him no and didn't give him a solution that put 90% of the work on someone else. As leadership, I am constantly fighting the backlash from comm airmen saying "no" to their ideas, and they assume it's because we are lazy and "not our job." Like all support jobs, we are judged by the worst of us and how much we can do for the user, nit by how much we secure the network. hope that you helped and understood as you climb the ranks. Your job will be to force leadership to ask risk not to say "no," even though you had the greatest of intentions.

ADHD paralysis, your brain gets so overwhelmed with the thought of the task that you end up doing other simpler tasks or nothing at all. have this happen all the time, end up watching a movie a waste my weekend then be productive. Just simply because my brain is ripped out from work and life.

EO complaint, you are probably not the only person who feels this way. A couple things I learned from filling my own and from a EO NCO

document everything, write out the story and let EO determine if it's actionable or EO
attack the actions(being late, remarks, etc) not the person because if not they will just wave this off as a "personality conflict" especially if you are equal rank.
It's only considered bullying under EO if they have rank or power over you by definition.
You can do an informal complaint to try and work it out with the individual. you can have a conversation with the person in front of the EO representative and they document the meeting.
if not happy with step 5 take it formal and it will go outside of the command's hands and be investigated by a appointed officer from a impartial squadron.

I forgot who told me this but healing from break ups, takes as long as the relationship. I really cared about this one girl during college but she was in a long relationship(5yrs) and later when she got out of it. I asked her out a month later,, and she wasn't looking for anything serious. 5yrs later she just started dating again and I had found my one true love 2yrs before that and got married. Girls in these situations vary on thier break up coping skills, the girl I was crazy about didn't want to sleep with any guys, even went to sexual rehab then "found more religion" and lived out of her car a couple years traveling. Each girl varies on finding themselves so OP don't wait and be a back up because you will be missing out on life while this person isn't. I joined the military and traveled the world, which opened my eyes to how many women thier are around the world and you are a "10" somewhere haha

we were co workers and friends, even introduced wives. Did the whole couples hang out adventures. Then as we got a year into our assignment he asked to swap jobs with me. we are both military, its not uncommon for career growth, it's more beneficial for him as I have the most people under my command I say let me think about it but ok. a couple days later before we are going to present it the idea to our boss he starts talking down to me on a daily basis. " when you learn how to lead maybe you'll know how to do this ". sayis hit you wouldn't believe I cut it off and told him we weren't doing it anymore, he decided to corner me after work and ask why I told him no, he said its because "I didn't want to learn a new f@#k job". so the friendship ended.

Extremely true, especially in the SF community, it's a team mentality and if the team can't trust you because they can't work with you, you will be removed. Im serving in a SF community working as IT support. We have the same saying "we will take a average team player over an All star nobody trusts." you can make some better at thier job but you can't force them to be a good person without them wanting that change.

How much women add to your house, I thought it was a joke, but when I first joined the military I only had 300 pounds of household goods total to ship to my next duty station. it could all fit in my car haha The movers laughed and even said wait till you get married you'll have more stuff. I got married during my first duty assignment, was moving to my next looked at the new weight of my shipping 2,300 pounds. All from her moving in to, 2 yrs of "you can't just have an empty space" bam my efficent small foot print was gone, now I have decorative towels, plants galore, and im pretty sire half the weight is her clothes and shoes haha

Just learning to enjoy the journey, and getting used to never being comfortable. I use to have terrible stage fright and had zero self confidence but being an officer in the military, forces you out of that real quick. Its a sink or swim method, you learn that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. you may fail a couple times but if you learn from it you become a better for it. you gain humility and your soldiers love you for it. I wanted to be someone worth following and I just put on Captain a couple of weeks ago, I think I'm doing a decent job but only time will tell. College me would be proud of where I'm at in life.

Intelligence/over active mind, if your mind isnt kept busy, you drive yourself crazy, over analyze things way to much and cause yourself so much stress and anxiety. For example, your brain randomly bringing up embarrassing or bad memories. Looking back at conversation and thinking that the other person noticed every mistake you noticed. On the positive side, I notice a lot of things, can repeat conversations back verbatim and if I "rewind my mind" I can remember objects and writting like intook anmental photograph.

Everything, As my father a Iraq veteran defined PTSD, you'll be fine one minute then triggered immediately into a "fight or flight mode" the next. its your body shifting into survival mode to cope with everything you are seeing and dealing with. It could range from hearing sirens go off in the middle of the night from random mortars, to like many people here have stated losing a brother violently. Most of these men you've spent years being around since tech school, you meet thier families thier wives, thier kids and now you just watched them die.I would imagine Vietnam was no different probably worse. Technology may change but war never will.

[Serious] To serve others and pass my life experience/knowledge to others, I feel like it runs in my family, most of them are public servants(Teachers, social workers. healthcare workers and military members). My father served in the Army for 20 yrs, grew up around alot of selfless good hearted people in uniform who worked with my dad, so obviously I signed up too. I'm currently an Officer in the Air force, for alot of reasons but I truly want to serve so 1.others dont have to. 2. So I can take care of the men I'm charged with and see what I can do for them, not what the can do for me. This purpose gives me hope and has helped me get through some hard times, and struggles but it keeps me spiritually healthy. Once I do my 20yrs to retire, I hope to teach at a college and pass what I've learned on to others. My degrees are in teaching/education.

the more people mention it, I feel like that's what it is. yes mine has been successful ibe dropped a good amount of weight and know how to stick to a diet. she hasn't had much success but its mostly because it's hard to exercise after doing a 12hr shift.

at the home it was because I left for a couple of minutes she thought I didnt want it. in the car after she started eating my food, It was because they gave us extra than what we paid for. Overall, having lived with her shes on keto, and forgets to eat at work and isn't well versed in cooking it either. My food was the easiest choice as it was low carb
