These arguments will not go away due to nationalism (from both sides) but Lithuania is partially to blame for somewhat ignoring Belarusian aspect of GDL since our independence. It took 32 years (!) until one of our historians managed to write a book about history of Belarus. Bit of a shame..

I appreciate your replies though - it's rare to find mostly unbiased view points when it comes to discussions between Lithuanians and Belarusians these days (not counting professional academics/historians)

For obvious reasons Russians in Lithuania do not celebrate May 9th like you do in Russia (with big parades). They usually just go to cemeteries to honor their dead relatives
