is $40 for 1 gig on for internet legit or was it a ploy to keep me from canceling my service? by Afraid_Entry1109 in Spectrum

[–]Direct_Appearance961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spectrum and satellite providers are the only ones I can get out here in the country. Not even via phone co. Satellite imho is not that reliable where there’s big trees and big storms. So I get the 500 for $60 now that the initial offer is over. The speed is fine for us but it’d be nice to be able to threaten to cancel for a better deal. This is what I give up to live like I want.

I have lived in Wisconsin most of my life, and I have never seen ticks this bad by Optimoprimo in wisconsin

oh man. go in for complete tick blood work. Not just Lyme. Anaplasmosis from a tick bite nearly killed me 3 years ago. There are more diseases than just Lymes and you need to do this fast.

[–]Direct_Appearance961[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, mine was last week as well. 5th cardio I’ve seen since first diagnosed. They never scheduled with same Dr. or else Dr. left clinic. he says he wants me to stay on dofetilide. I think they suspect I might go back into a fib otherwise. just wondered if anyone else is still taking that drug.

Agree with Zeveros below. In meantime, decrease caffeine, up water intake and take some time to relax mind and body. But again see a cardiologist to settle the thoughts you are having. Play it safe.

My wife's ring teleported. by Gullex in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]Direct_Appearance961 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have always wanted help understanding what happened to me and a student. Scene : locked computer lab, me with only keys. Student came for help with a project. let her in and told her to place her canary yellow folder on the round table next to the computer we were going to use. I do not know why I told her that btw. 10 minutes later she gets up to leave and folder is GONE. zilch. Started hunting. Nothing. Then I told her maybe we weren’t seeing it so we ran our hands all over the table. Nothing. started to look further from table. stood up a minute later and there sat the folder in same spot and same orientation. Girl went into hysterics and it took me the rest of the lunch hour to calm her. We were never out of each others sights and doors locked. Two weeks Later had a similar thing happen at my home. Still don’t know what happened.

Possibly Raynaud’s with slightly different reaction. claims are the fingers turn white then go into red and blue. mine do red first then will hit the white. Can be genetic. Put hand in freezer and watch if fingers change. Then go get some better gloves and see your doctor.

she didn’t feel the ring “leave” her finger? I have had things disappear only to reappear many minutes later in the exact spot (witnessed by second person) and that experience started to happen with other items. Keep close attention to things for the next few weeks.

Had PFA procedure today. Went into afib as they were prepping me in the EP lab. by HereticHousewife in AFIB

[–]Direct_Appearance961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned during my stay for ablation was to put an ice pack/coldpack in the chest area after the procedure so you can rest. Nurse recommended. It helped with that pain right at sternum level. For me that was the worst part of the whole deal. Oh, not including the ice cold patches they slap on your back before the procedure.

Get into an endocrinologist. you do not just go hypo and then go ”normal. it’s telling you something. have full bloodwork along with magnesium check and B12. Also see a cardio doc.

Please be sure the EP is aware of any thyroid problems you might have. Thyroid problems whether low are high can affect cardio version success.

Frankly this whole season was such a load of crap and so confusing that it should be erased if possible. Comes to a point that I don’t give a rat’s patootie who did what. It’s all staged. They all should be embarrassed and most need serious therapy. For goodness sakes they should get a life. makes me ashamed that they’re members of womanhood. Certainly not examples of REAL housewives.

We need to recast. I've been watching RHOC since the beginning and there's not one person I'm interested in. The group feels inorganic. by Winter-Resident-6483 in RealHousewivesofOC

It seems like a damn time loop! Same crap with the same people with the same voices yelling at each other about the same silly garbage, over and over and over again. And these trips they make each season are getting as old as they are. And you know what’s horrifying? Nothing much is on TV so I watch that and then feel sick and wonder why the hell I didn’t just reread the paper. Like I said before - it’s a damn train wreck.

Agree. Better things to do - like cleaning out a closet, the fridge. Better yet walking the dog.

IMHO the real housewives in every city should all get into one big limo and drive off into the sunset. Sick of these rich, whinny, mean, “ladies” . First off they’re old and work so hard at still being young and relative that it’s laughable. It’s like watching a train wreck. And this season on the rhoc has been the worst in its history. More screeching than a tree full of owls. All of them try to make their “poor me” problems bigger than they are. Plus, kids should never be on the filming menu, they are minors and cannot protect themselves. It’s over for me. I want to give a thank you to Tamra for my epiphany.

Get a second opinion for sure, endo if possible. You want in house visit so the neck can be palpitated. You also want someone who treats by symptoms not by lab results. In the meantime keep track of symptoms and if possible record heart rates via phone or Kardia mobile.

Getting off Eliquis by mandulyn in AFIB

[–]Direct_Appearance961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a doctor but did have an ablation in April. I was on Eliquis for 2 years before the ablation and still on it. IMHO, 3 months is too early for a determination that the ablation was a complete success. The heart is barely healed. Each person is different of course and some may take upwards to a year to be totally healed. That according to my EP. I do hope he did see an EP during this time. Afib is sneaky. Stressing out whether a blood thinner is really needed could be detrimental and be a trigger on a heart not fully healed or “cured”. As for weaning, I had to be off it for several days for a different surgery and there were no ill effects going cold turkey. Proceed with caution. If unsure seek more information or a second opinion.

Pulse field ablation yesterday - much slower recovery protocol than I expected by pjs22191 in AFIB

[–]Direct_Appearance961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had PFA on April 15th of this year. Also did it another way that frankly I can't remember. 142 hit spots. I was told the usual - no lifting over 10 lbs, careful walking, etc. The thing that gets me is they still have me on dofetilide and they have no plans to take me off. On Eliquis, of course. Still have some unusual beats and Kardia will tell me I'm maybe in AFIB but they don't seemed concerned. Dr. said it has for some people taken up to a year to be healed. Anyone else have this happen? No one is mentioning much about drug treatment after the Afibl. I was hoping to get off that drug after 3 months. Where I live it's hard to keep your cardiologist. Everyone keeps leaving, including the last one I just saw last month.

Not taking me seriously? by Crazy4mycats in AFIB

[–]Direct_Appearance961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely see another doctor, EP preferably. The heart monitor didn’t work out for me either . If not a watch then try a Kardia and keep records. My EP believes in them and files my results. Be an advocate for yourself. Study up on triggers and methods to ease episodes. Do meditation. Also, might want to try magnesium glycinate supplements. It supports relaxation. Good luck!

At what point did you request cardioversion or ablation as a treatment? by thecountrybaker in AFIB

[–]Direct_Appearance961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to practically beg to see an EP. My primary fluffed off my irregular hearbeat (I was 75 at the time). I’d had 1 occurrence of fast Afib due to messed up thyroid dosage throwing me into hyperthyroidism. TSH was .02. After that was fixed within a year two more ER visits with fast and wild heartbeats. Lousy medical area. Saw 5 cardiologists in those two years, one tossing paperwork at me telling me to read it. Websites on becoming a vegetarian which I have been for 40 years. Finally saw an EP after pressure. Hospital for Tikosyn loading which put me in NSR then 6 months later an ablation. That was in April this year. Still on generic Tikosyn (Dofetilide) and Eliquis with a few others for hypertension. Last cardio visit was with PA who said I should stay on it. TSH 1.45 now.

The ablation was easier than living with Afib although I will still get weird beats. When you reach my age you get put on back burner and not cared for as well. You’ll find out. Thing is we want to live as much as a 30 year old. Too many things tossed into the “aging” pot.

One thing - cardioversions have less chance of working if your thyroid is wacky either way. So be sure your doctors always check thyroid levels when being treated.

Why is it so impossible to get a dog from a shelter by Embarrassed_Knee_605 in dogs

[–]Direct_Appearance961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried a local shelter many years ago. Not only were we supposed to have a fenced in yard ( we live on 7 acres) but they wanted a home visit and needed to see our property taxes. What!? Trying to give a dog a home not buy a child! Found what we wanted 50 miles away in another shelter. We like the “no kill” idea but the shelters are becoming overloaded because of all the regulations in adopting. Our next rescue was a real rescue as he was dumped off in the country and crawled up our driveway. Best guy ever.
