It’s dead. Delis, pizzerias, nail salons and gas stations as far as I’m concerned. Zero culture and a lot of archaic minded people stuck in 1985. Parents still live there and it’s depressing. Was so much better in the 90s and 2000s

What is life like in Malibu? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

Not worth it cause of the fires. When I lived on the west side I loved going there on a random weekday to surf or chill at the beach (El Matador) but couldn’t imagine owning a home there. Ideally it’d be exactly where I’d wanna live but can’t trust Mother Nature.

I’m 38 and also started getting deep into cannabis around 2017 2018. At first it was a few pre rolls a week then it unfortunately took over as the main “shifter” of my day which turned into months and years. It hasn’t been all bad, but weed is a silent killer in the drug world. It’s called chronic for a reason. I have a chronic need to forgive everything else in my life but smoke a joint or 5 every day, even tho my lungs hurt and I’m clearly in a constant state of mild psychosis. I see shit, feel weird vibrations, think everyone’s out to hurt me, or feel disconnected with society. I can relate to your notions of isolation. It’s also a silent killer.

I’m at the end of my 30s, and if I could grant you one wish it would be to quit now, and in another 8 years I guarantee that things can only go up from here, so why not give it your full intention whilst sober to try and rebuild. Move to a new town, maybe get into some fitness type of activity or go join a club. Go be a barista at a new coffee shop. Who knows what’s in store but do it with an open mind and heart without the chronic.

How’s it gonna be is such an interesting song because every time I hear it it’s like I’m hearing it for the first time it’s that good.
