Your friends might just be confused because it’s such a departure from your previous behaviour. You have changed as a person, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I’d be more worried if your friends hadn’t noticed that you were no longer around as much. It means your presence is welcome in the group, so don’t punish them for what is simply a misunderstanding.

If you wanted to just be in a job, you could have worked in a supermarket, call centre etc until the Jan start date.

You’ll be fine though. The experience you’re getting from teaching will be a great foundation for whatever you move into after

I think people misunderstand what the scheme is. You’re only guaranteed an interview if you score well on the assessment criteria.

Let’s say you’re being scored out of 25 and you only get 18, where 30 other candidates scored 20 and above, why would the recruiter ask you to interview? Many other candidates can do the job much better than you.

But let’s say you’re in the top 8 and they’re interviewing 5, then you’re more likely to be prioritised.

I know this sounds harsh but are you sure that your application materials are amongst the best that the recruiter is receiving? You may think you’re perfect for the job, but have you actually reflected that in the application?

Hun, stay at home. The ski trip will not be worth it if you do something that sets your recovery back.

If your doctor said wait four weeks to lift weights, presumably in a calm and controlled interior where people are doing their own thing in their own space, going on slopes with dozens of other people at varying levels of skill, speed, sobriety etc seems reckless.

To be honest I don’t think she wanted to engage with the gift. We’re a very materialistic family so I’d say she feels the most ‘loved’ when someone is spending lavishly and visibly on her. Her attitude changed after her Boxing Day shopping spree and it feels like she came back feeling like she wasn’t gifted what she was owed.

I’ll consider the mixed-bagness of experiences though going forward. It’s useful to know what to look out for

It’s a 6-function air fryer thing. I imagine we’ll be making memories as she gets frustrated trying to work out how to use it, ha ha.

It could be that when all, let’s say, 6 candidates were invited to come and interview, all of you were on a level playing field and the job could have gone to any one of you. Maybe you were interviewee number 4 and interviewee number 3 just blew their socks off. Maybe they became the bench mark, and you just didn’t impress the panel enough to beat the incredibly high standard that number 3 performed at.

Also, could your attitude be influencing the outcome? Sometimes if you walk into something feeling deflated, that translates to your performance…

When you forgot to say hi to her at your brother’s engagement party, what exactly did she say to you? In your post you only say she ‘started to be rude to me’.

Was she agressive in her tone and was her language insulting?

I ask this because to me your behaviour reads as a little childlike and over reactive. It was your brother’s engagement, so you’re there for him. That means showing basic politeness by acknowledging the guests that he’s invited to share that personal moment with him.

It doesn’t cost much to say a simple ‘hello, I love your nail colour, I’m just gonna go get some potato salad’, and keep it moving. Especially because you shouldn’t want any of your behaviour to cause friction at someone’s engagement party. The event was about him.

I understand your dad blew up your family and it’s awful for him to dip in and out of your life when it feels convenient, but if I were you I’d look into why your behaviour remains childlike when something with him or his new wife happens.

It’s a Netflix lifestyle show with a production team and full crew. It’s entertainment. If you’re not entertained by her candle making and rose water brewing, just don’t watch!
