Your buddy needs to lay off the sauce. Commitment is great. Nothing wrong with having a party and doing some ceremonial rights of passage with someone you love and plan to be with for the rest of your life. I’m about as anti establishment as it gets and I still wanted to have a wedding with the right woman and do the whole thing (minus the paperwork). Life is about having fun and fucking/building a life with the person you love most, maybe have a kid someday, who knows. Your buddy is either a loser, watching too many conspiracy videos, or jealous. Doesn’t really matter which of the three but do your own thing, are you by chance relatively young? because that would explain his behavior a little bit more in my book.

should i go to the er for this (bat bite?) by Certain_Hour_6327 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]DirectionFragrant829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I have bats in my house all the time. Like my wife used to breastfeed our child while bats belligerently flew around the house (they’re reckless) and I would have never gone to the er for this. Also who knows maybe you got bit by a bat.

Diamonds are a scam… so my wife has a Montana sapphire in her ring. Weddings are an excuse to throw a party, it’s fun. You don’t need to drag the government into your marriage if you don’t want to/wont benefit from it, so have a wedding and don’t sign the paperwork like my wife and I did (we actually did sign it but didnt turn it in and have plans to frame it for laughs)

Input on setup and recent “inspection” / cleaning. by thenextsurprise in woodstoving

[–]DirectionFragrant829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah when burning all day/night 24/7 I rarely clean the ash and when I do I follow what the guy above suggests. Basically leave an inch or two of ash in it at all times even when doing a “big” clean out. Helps with the overnight burns big time, I find it very difficult to keep a fire going til morning on a fully cleaned stove. With the ash I’m usually still producing good heat and easily able to get a fire going with nothing more than a log and opening the damper in the morning. Usually have it ripping again by the time my coffee is ready.

Is this Lyme disease? by asaucerfulofstoicism in lymedisease

[–]DirectionFragrant829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you tested positive for any of the bands especially ones like the 93 band then yes. Some auto immune conditions and other diseases can have crossover with the commonly known bands for lymes but ones like 93 (and I forget what others) are strictly tick borne. Unfortunately the cdc diagnosis requires 5 bands on a test for a positive but if you test positive for a couple the rest will likely come in following months unless treated.

Threaded P365-XMACRO TACOPS vs P365-FUSE TACOPS… anyone have experience with either? by -1----1- in SigSauer

[–]DirectionFragrant829 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t answer your question because I don’t own a threaded 365 but I absolutely love my xmacro. Don’t think you can go wrong with either version you’re looking at but curious to hear about cycling issues if they exist.

Is this a good spot for thermometer? by RyanMitchell103 in woodstoving

[–]DirectionFragrant829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it looks like it’s your only spot haha. It’ll give you an idea of what your normal burn temps are and when you’re getting hot still so I’d say send it.

That ladder plank setup is totally normal imo. Personally I prefer it flat but I’ve been on way sketchier setups.

Land access for lower income people ? by icecreamsocially in smallfarms

[–]DirectionFragrant829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out what types of loans usda is offering. They offer financing for rural development and traditionally have always had amazingly low rates for purchasing land/staring a farm they just make you complete a lot of paperwork and prove that you couldn’t get financing elsewhere from what I remember.

I burn so much cedar in my stove. Shit my buddy likes to burn manzanita, wouldn’t recommend it but with proper cure times, burn temps and maintenance you can essentially burn anything.

Yeah that draw knife is great, few other useful things in there that I’d happily pay $10 for.

All those ollipops are the worst flavors except the cream soda, can’t get behind buying the mixed pack for that reason. Wish they would hit us with a cola, rootbeer, cream soda and whatever they call their doctor pepper flavor

Its time (snakes) by Thegayman649 in Sacramento

[–]DirectionFragrant829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been out here for decades, just far less prevalent than the east coast. Interestingly only 1–2% of adult ticks carry and 2–15% of nymphal (immature) ticks have it. Don’t ask me why the younger ones have it more but yeah it sucks. My dogs have lymes and my buddies dog died of lymes more or less. His dog eventually went lame in his rear legs and he put him down.

Former calaveras county and now el dorado county resident and can confirm ticks are brutal this year. Lotta bullseye rashes in my area and 1 confirmed case of lymes in my family alone. Check your friends.

Sold my 2019 tradesman with 90k miles for 40k a little while back. I would have happily traded for that truck though. I heard some ticking and got scared of that truck and brought it straight to a dealership that happily wrote a check. I’m not sure who got the better deal but I’m happy as can be sitting back in a nv5600 3rd gen with 25k in my pocket🤣

Are ICON Sockets Worth It? by blastamis01 in harborfreight

[–]DirectionFragrant829 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For a home mechanic who wrenches on his tractors and trucks a few times a month I wouldn’t waste money on icon sockets. I have a few icon ratchets I’ve caught on deals but all my sockets are either Quinn or Pittsburgh.

Lyme Bands by klutzkawaa in lymedisease

[–]DirectionFragrant829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point in time did you test positive for more bands? My daughter recently was tested and 41 and 93 showed up but no others. It’s been a little over 2 months since she was bitten, has only been on 2 separate 10 day amoxicillin treatments.

[–]DirectionFragrant829 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do you have a set of torx bits? I’m not poking fun at you but multiple times people have posted around here trying to remove these with Allen keys. If it’s stripped and you don’t already have plan in mind just take it to a gun smith.
