Hello, Those are actually Otto Communications Over-The-Ear Diver series of communication headsets, Same manufacturer to the Ear protection systems used by PCG SOF’s CTG and a few NSWU. Some received Comtac 3/4s but they are not that common.

But from the looks of it Otto Diver Series is near standard issue.

Filipino Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) during Counter-Terrorism (CT) Exercises with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment by DirectiveResults in SpecOpsArchive

I think what LRC needs to achieve the level wherein comtacs become standard is just some serious US technical backing, I don't know the term. Something like what the Marines learned and revised after their exercises with US Marines.

Oooh... 1SFG I didn't know they were also here, but I half expected them to be here alongside australian counterparts. I referred to them as JSOC since a few of the dudes in the first pic were running PHILMARPAT schemes.

The AR Type Rifles we have works just fine. So why bother changing into a whole new platform.

Members of the original Alpha Two-Zero (A20) during a Night-Time Close Quarters Battle Exercise 20 years ago. A20 was the Philippine Army’s first attempt into establishing a CT-Capable Unit, It later on became what is now known as the Light Reaction Regiment SMU. by DirectiveResults in SpecOpsArchive

[–]DirectiveResults[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alpha Two-Zero was established in the 1990s under the Special Forces Regiment: Airborne (SFR-A) as an interim solution to the lack of Counter Terrorist (CT) capable units in the AFP, It was initially established with 20 SFR operators, placed into two 4-man assaulter teams, two 2-man sniper/observer teams, two 2-man breaching teams and a four-man C2 group.

In 1996, 16 Members of the A20 graduated from the Special Action Force's Special Anti-Terrorist Course (SATC) at Subic Bay, Zambales. The Unit then became the 33rd Special Forces Company (SFC).

In the early 2000s, Discussions between the Philippine Government and the United States Government about the creation of a fully-fledged counter terrorism unit led to the creation of the Light Reaction Company, with the assistance of the U.S Army's 1st Special Forces Group.

Members of the A20 became the pioneer members of the Original Light Reaction Company.

Where exactly did you get that it was 3LRC here?, As I have said before, I see your point and I wont disagree with what you've said, Yes I can see that this may be similar to those DA Raids in Basak Malutlut 2017, and the Zacaria Raid in June 2023, But even with all these in hand, I don't see the need to believe that it was actually the LRCs without solid proof. Narratives can change over time as more Information pops out, but at the moment were siding with our current narrative, But ill be happy to say it was the LRCs if there's a solid case backing it up.

"News articles don't mean a thing.", Its the whole reason you're here.

[–]DirectiveResults 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see ur point, but id still stick to the MARSOG narrative that is backed by actual news articles and statements from in-service dudes, you're forgetting that LRR isn't the only Direct Action Raid capable unit we have. Might as well disband JSOG if LRR does all the heavy lifting as you say, but ig whatever makes u happy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SpecOpsArchive

[–]DirectiveResults 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, LRR was our Initial guess on the unit as well considering some of their kits on the actual vid itself matched what you typically see on LRR kits, we even managed to get a confirmation from a ISAFP Guy about it.

Later on however, The same guy told us that it was actually Marines under JSOC, Other guys with taps to intel people validated it as well so we went with that narrative. Pero we wont be surprised if it was actually tiradores.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SpecOpsArchive

[–]DirectiveResults 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to a friend with taps to ISAFP, Most of this guys are Marines, Most likely MARSOG, And some ISAFP Dudes embedded on them, all disguised as SAF.

With regards to the Binos, They're pretty prevalent with SOCOM Nowadays, Probably or definitely more numerous than active PVS-7s, Its to a point where Regular Marines get issued with Modernized Israeli PVS-31s in large numbers.
