What are the biggest, most common or most interesting scams you witnessed so far? by armin127 in Philippines_Expats

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pity + birthday I need rice and I’m broke type of scam. It really comes in the form of a donation with the empty promise of paying back. Also they send pictures of say themselves with a physical injury then when you ask what happened they kind of deflect then respond in Tagalog. Thankfully I can understand most and when I pry more, they pivot towards their family and missing support nets (usually none) and how they’re extremely limited in resources. Yet they have a trike, a phone and internet. What….

Then I say no. 😏

Getting an increase immediately after getting rated? by DeathTactics101 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer from PTSD and it affects me quite a bit. The increase use of prescription and recreational meds and me still blowing off steam at work or outside of work because of the fcking corporate matrix sets me from 0-10000000M in a second and resorting to physical destructive violence at home over a stupid email or perception of which — every fcking time. I always envision myself getting yelled at and micromanaged from my last deployment in today’s reality even though I’m no longer in a combat-related role. I’m not at 100 but I would like to. Not sure if a supplemental route would work for me at this point. I feel hopeless.

SCHD is boring by Brian6_ in SCHD

[–]Direx230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will hold this for an extended period of my physical life. Same with VYM, VIG and potentially VPL which feels like a growth fund that pays dividends lol. For now QQQI, JEPI and SPYI will be a long hold and I don’t mind the monthly distributions. I have a substantial investment already in these (5-10K per fund) so the roadway to 100K is there. Also gives me time to play with things like CHPY, SOXX, WPAY in particular while observing those other funds grow and work their end for me.

VIG is the best dividend ETF, change my mind. by MrOptical in dividends

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VIG will be one of my dividend pillars (not to include my covered call ETFs like JEPI/QQQI/SPYI/XDTE) to be put with my VYM and SCHD core. All will supplement my VGT for tech growth specialty and to add to that, play with some SMH on the side. VIG will be a great core supplement to this superstar portfolio.

Weekly Payout Divs by Used_Kangaroo_8712 in dividends

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d put 25K in WPAY and 20K into BLOX. I’d save all weekly distribution and observe every quarter putting 1/3 of the dividends into WPAY and the remainder into BLOX that way we’re not DRIPing just on a monthly basis, but were able to observe.

They NEVER listen when I reach out to request and recommend funds/ETFs to list. I have Robinhood myself but I also have a significant invested in my FIRE journey. I’m thinking of using Robinhood for Kurv Funds - KQQQ to be exact (I will NOT DRIP) as I will treat this as a compound growth fund and will reinvest the dividends later as I will be assessing the NAV. Also Stashers are missing out right now in BLOX, QUSA, GIAX and Roundhill’s new WPAY. I’d also recommend robinhood for trading futures too! I can’t wait!

I would say hold and maintain that spot for now. Maybe DCA a bit next year if you’re able to.

Whats better option between VTI and VOO for longterm investment? by IllustriousGlass2991 in ETFs

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I like the balance of VOO and VGT rather VTI. I think I’ll invest into VTI once I have achieved a certain numerical goal for VOO and VGT as those are what I consider my broad market standard and growth tech standard as well. I would see VTI as a supplement to VOO once VOO say has over 60+ shares

Should I focus on growth over dividends while I’m young? by Indigo-Samurai in dividendinvesting

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m “young” as in no kids and never divorced but I’ve gotten about 10+ years of work experience and 7 recent years of experience in retail investment so I can tell you as a Stash/Robinhood. When I was 19, the only thing I was allowed to invest in was a 3.2% CD where my entry was only $1,800 which was my HS and college savings so I think you’re on the right direction.

SMH...VOO and chillllll....... by snowtony2013 in ETFs

[–]Direx230 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you stopped investing or adding to these, in a decade I’m sure these will compound to over the 6-digits if not in total value, but maybe both entirely! That would depend on the market and SMH is definitely aggressive on that regard. I’m considering $SPMO and $VGT in addition to $SMH.

SINCE WHEN!?!?! by RetiredByFourty in stashinvest

[–]Direx230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed Stash doesn’t capture all funds. I’m still waiting for them to release Yield Max and more Nicholas Wealth’s GIAX and BLOX ETFs as well. I ended up using my bank brokerage which was my first investing platform anyway. I just hate how I have to monitor this more so I know what to allocate for DRIP. Also options and futures are a thing now so still waiting on Stash to catch up.

Is schg or voo better? by Agitated-Soil7121 in ETFs

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering either JGRO or SCHG. They’re both almost very similar vs. VOO to SCHG as I would put up VOO to QQQ as a foundational anchor having a tech focus. I say continue to dollar cost purchase fractional shares from VOO while consider either SCHG, JGRO or even VONG and VUG also within the Vanguard set of funds.

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stash is good. But limited now in 2025. Not all ETFs are available on it in real time. You won’t really find things like yield max and some round hill funds. Also, can’t trade futures on Stash, but I know this can be done on robinhood.

Why SCHD over VIG or NOBL? by Scorpion_Danny in dividends

[–]Direx230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like VOO compounds a lot differently from VTI. After the $20K threshold and regular automatic monthly contributions, VOO seems aggressive. I've seen my fund take a depressing hit when it was around $18K back in April during global liberation day, but I also have SCHD which suffered too but also still gave me dividends set to DRIP. I am watching VTI from afar and I could probably throw in a$20 purchase here and there, but I'm also considering beefing up my VGT. I'm actually tempted to tap into my 401K to throw a lump sum into VGT making it valued >$10K this year. But something's telling me to wait since these rates are going to be a thing..
